State Budget Crisis and Lottery Prize
Happy New Year and have a wonderful career, all of you. I hope you guys all have good careers so that you guys would play lotteries just for entertainment.
I don't follow news very much. But I know that California has a massive budget crisis. For example, county jails can't keep an inmate for more than a few weeks because of the shoestring budget. (duh) And lottery got hit hard. I already mentioned in another thread. The rollover rate for California Super Lotto Plus is just abysmal. Normall

CEO: Bonuses in lottery business are necessary
Plenty of people are out of work even in good times, but that has nothing to do with how much anyone else deserves to be paid (well, except perhaps for congress critters). I think the lottery is far more recession proof than many businesses, but this is exactly the time when some people deserve bonuses. If other people are losing business and you maintain, or even increase your business, you're probably doing an above average job. As the article says, the lottery is a sales and marketing busines

Thanks Increase,
Would have been a box hit the way I play them.
I use the pairs and add the 3rd number to the pairs. Of course you can play it any way such as the 3rd # in the 1st position and add the pairs if you like. In that case it would have been str8.
Thanks again and good luck.

Florida MegaMoney - 76% payout?
Since the subject is MegaMoney, maybe I should start a new thread, but it's still the same subject - RE: Lump Sum Payouts in Florida
On Christmas Eve 2 winners split $38 million. Yesterday one of the winners claimed $13,340 which is over 70% of $19 million.
I can't imagine taking the 30 year installments now because the lump sums are so high. However, my question is... do annual payments also increase? In other words, if he chose to take annual payments would they be $644K ($19M : 30) or

What will happen if MM and PB merge?
I don't think they will merge.
There is no 3rd party that is threatening their business, that would force such a merge.
A merge might create a slight increase in profits, but I don't think either side would want to change the way they do business.

Thanks Increase.
Looks like if you played all of them it would have cost $30 and a str8 would have shown
The 8 was one of the 3rd #'s to play.
Have to work on it more.

Countdown to Powerball in Florida
For me, the matrix is high enough, but I do like the idea of winning all 5 numbers with a $1 million dollar payout. Presently, it is $200,000.
Now, what would the winners of the 4 numbers with the Powerball number receive? Would that payout increase to $20,000 -- instead of the $10,000 payout.
Finally, it seems as if 2009 is going to be an interesting year for Powerball players.

CA SLP: Abysmal Rollover Rate?
The jackpot amount for the last time was 33 millions. Now it's 34 millions. That's just 1 million increase. Well, when the amount reaches about 30 millons the rollover rate is about 3 millions.
Wow, does bad economy hit the lottery rollover rate, too? Or do people spend money on gifts, not lottery on Holiday season? Well, it's just a dollar or two to play. Why are people shying away from buying lottery?
