buying lottery tickets
If play slip scanners were a new idea, I could understand because there are number of reason for false readings. But once they got the bugs out, it must be operator error unless all the clerks are having that problem. I've seen clerks try to insert slips 5 or 6 times and then watch another clerk clear the machine and the tickets are printed the first time.
Race tracks have machines where you put in $20 and make your own bets. The screens are 'how much', 'type of bet', and 'which horse'. After

$93 million lottery winner has yet to claim her prize
I've always wondered if these security camera clocks were synched to the lottery machine clocks?
Probably not but a lottery terminal printout would show at what time that ticket was bought and they checked the security tapes to see who bought tickets around that time. I doubt the security tape will be shown even if the winner decides to go the Bunky Bartlett route.

Is it luck, or right place at the right time. If that ticket is going to win whoever has it will be the winner. I was at the casino about 10 years ago. Had already won $1199.00 a half hour after i walked in on 3 red sevens. Walked up to a bank of progressive quarter machines (double eagle) was the name. Everyone of the 20 machines was being played, at the same time a gambler walked away from the machine 2nd from the end. I stepped up and put a $20.00 in, was still very happy from all the m

LP Member's Observations / "Laws of Lotto"
I really love this one...LOL
MegaWinner's Law of Opposites : That lottery machine is actually trying to match my ticket since I picked my numbers first, not the other way around lol!

I have a question
LP family I have a question in reference to quick picks. Now I know many of you may be familiar
with the raffel games that individual states have been running lately. From my understanding
the raffel tickets were issued in an order in which they were purchased meaning that it didnt
matter what machince produced the ticket because the ticket number came from the main
terminal in which they are all online with. Which brings me to my question. Are quickpicks
generated in that

Playslip, accidently gets run more than 1X
I wouldn't keep it. This happened a few times when I used to sell lottery tickets, the slip would get sucked back in the machine real quick and run again if you weren't fast enough in pulling it out. Nobody ever bought the duplicate as far as I can remember. Even when there were mistake tickets,my boss always bought them but never once won a thing off of them. I guess when you sell tickets, which I know a few of you have on here or still do, you get a different perspective on these games and the

What are the wrong things a Lottery Retailer does?
What are the worst things a lottery retailer or clerk do(or you presume they do) when you are buying tickets.
Change my number - I buy my tickets at a mom-and-pop's store - You know just in case you win someone who could used the money gets it instead of a corporation. When I give the clerk my ticket and the machine couldn't read a number, he chooses quick pick without asking me.

Stream of Jackpot Winners
since the majority of wins are from quick picks i don't see anything peculiar about people wining smaller pots it just happened that the machine coughed up a winner because those balls were drawn. i wish it would happen to me, I'd be tickled.
congratulations to anyone that buys a winning quick pick ticket. I've won 150 bucks one time this year with a quick pick. And a few smaller amounts

I used to deliver lottery magazines. NY Lottery New$ folded at the end of 2001.
Now I work at a supermarket that sells most NY online games, and has a ticket vending machine.

Michigan Lottery Employee Arrested for Stealing Tickets
LOL! There is no flaw in the system. I used to work for the State of Mich. and part of my job was to destroy those same scratchoff tickets in a giant shedding machine. I tossed hundreds of thousands of tickets into that grinder, and at no time did I have the urge to pocket anything, because anyone with half a brain knows that every ticket created is tracked from cradle to grave, whether it is bought, scraped off, or never unwrapped or sold. This guy had to be on drugs. Oh well there goes the pen
