Powerball & Megamillions Growing
I'm certain that some people don't get it. Why did the record increase exactly $25 million from 340 to 365, without offering a $340 million jackpot again?
In February 2006 the record was 340 million, and it rolled from 250 to 300. I'm pretty sure that 300 is less than 340, so at that time the jackpot hadn't exceeded the record. When nobody won the $300 million jackpotthe cap was applied and the jackpot only rolled to $365 million. Either you and a few others have it wrong or MUSL has it wro

Which way is better?
possible outcomes for a single event... if you win, you will get let's use $900... now subtract the money you spent on the tickets...net profit of $535 IF you win.
increase your events by playing one a day... then if you hit, you can STOP playing and your net profit would be higher (if you win before draw 365) OR keep playing and hope for another win.
IF you win twice only, $1800-$365 = $1435
ACTUAL profits depend on ACTUAL hits, but in theory, you have the POTENTIAL exposure to $328,13

Hoosier Lottery
Guru,
You've done a great job defending the Hoosier Lottery. And while your explanation of the PRESENT DAY CASH VALUE may apply to Powerball and MegaMillions IT DOESN'T apply to the Hoosier Lottery and I'm going to show you why.
First...go to the Hoosier Lottery's website...look at the jackpot value. The annuity value will be posted but unlike Powerball, there is NO CASH OPTION valueosted anywhere on their site.
Next...click on games...click on Lotto and read the entire officia

When they win, dou hound too?
Never been to a casino and have only played blackjack at home with friends. That is why I play the same amount each time I play, so when the big jackpot comes around, I am NOT tempted to look at how much more money I spent trying to increase my odds of winning when only one set of numbers will win anyway. Just curious if any LP members ever asked a winner for a share of a jackpot for whatever their reason(s). And I do not think I have ever seen this question posted.
What if an absolut

can someone here post me an example of a fake RNG lottery drawing?
Reminds me of the programmer that worked for the Nevada gaming commission. He wrote a program that would increase credits on a slot machine after a certain coin - in sequence was used.
Ironically, his job with the commission was to examine the RNG chips in slot machines to determine randomness and repair them when they were out of whack...
He did this to cheat the system and in fact he got away with it ( for a while ) using an accomplice. Greed got the best of him and the casinos caugh

How To Put Lottery Purchases on Credit Card
Huh???? Nowhere did I even suggest I was buying lottery tickets just to get the rewards. I'm finding ways to put stuff I already buy onto my rewards card. I might as well get the rewards if I can.
And I'm not using my credit card to buy stuff I can't afford. I pay it in full every month. Again, I'm just finding ways to increase my rewards with stuff I'm already buying.
I'm not suggesting anyone else use their credit card to buy anything they can't afford either, especially not lotte

What Would Be An Ideal Lottery?
If I had input in designing a lottery, I would make it a worldwide lottery with proceeds going to benefit victims of natural diasters. It would be kinda like El Gordo and a bit of the raffles we have in the USA, with the big annual drawing in December. The specifications:
There would be a weekly drawing with the minimum jackpot being $25,000,000.00. If the jackpot is NOT won, it would increase by $10,000,000.00 a week until the first week of the next month. If there is no level one (jack

Did you know in PB/MM ...
I'm not skeptical of your ideas because I have never heard of them but rather that I've heard similar claims that were never proved.
There are companies selling numbers and people selling software that make those kinds of claims all the time.
I believe that one can increase their odds of winning by eliminating combinations that have matched four or more in previous drawings, combinations of certain ranges and sums and avoid certain conditions that are not common with past winning combina

Why do you get more with Mega Millions?
Powerball starts at $15 million and goes up a minimum of $5 million per draw.
Mega Millions starts at $12 million. There is no minimum increase.
Usually after 2 draws MM is at around $16 - $17 million, while Powerball is at $20 million. Mega Millions reaches around $25 Million on the third draw. Powerball is around $27 million or so.
When Powerball reaches a record high (currently $365 million) it will only grow in $25 million increments. Mega Millions has no such limitation.
