Virginia Lottery adds Sunday drawings
I think she means the scratch-offs pay out better, which they do. And you are right, the only sure-fire way to increase sales is to raise payouts. It's been demonstrated time and time again. And about Cash 5, the reason the payouts seem so low in comparison to Pick 3/4 is because Cash 5 has more ways to win. With Cash 5, the prize pool has to be split amongst the 3 prize levels which subsequently reduces the odds-to-payout ratio. With Pick 3/4 on the other hand, there's only 1 prize to wi

Do these stats hold true for other 5 draw lotto games besides CA's F5
In approximately 21 draws out of 100, or 1 draw in every 5, 4 of the 5 numbers selected will have been drawn in the last 6 draws. In approximately 5 draws out of 100, all 5 numbers selected will have been drawn in the last 6 draws. In earlier research from about two years ago, I had read a few sources that said statisticians figured out a long time ago that that was a very good way to significantly increase your chances of winning by only picking from a limited subset of numbers, not all 39.

S.C. Millionaire Raffle Tickets & Close Calls
Ok Fatbird, Lets talk. I'm in S.C.also. I purchased about twenty-five tickets so far. I talk to a sales rep from S.C. lottery the other day and he to predicts they want sell all one million tickets So the way i look at it is, we have better chance of getting ran over by a car if we were standing in the middle of the road now verses standing in our yard, than winning the big prize. I predict the sales will really increase the last two weeks. I'm looking at a ticket i puchased 12/16, and the numb

Odds Don't Change When Jackpot Goes UP
I don't think anyone who understands statistics would believe that a $50M jackpot is easier to win than a $2M jackpot. I think that the reason so many people stand in line when it rolls over a lot is greed. For some strange, unknown reason the average person who earns $35K a year isn't as interested in or gets more excited about winning $1 million than $100 million. When more people play, the chance of someone winning goes up, but the odds don't change. If you flip a coin, the odds of gettin

Check this one out...
Bryan, Of the 23 states that the combo hit in, do you know how many have two drawing per day and how many days per week each state has two drawings? I can find the probability (or close to it) if you know exactly how many total drawings took place between (and including) the last day of the hits. Do you track other states also? If you look at all Pick 3 games in all states as a whole, the probability for such an event will increase.

Can this be turned into a system?
Jokerh, my input...increase your number pool to about half of the number pool and use a RNG to make your selections from that. Just my opinion, but if you're getting 1-3 right from a smaller number pool you might have all the numbers in your larger pool and let an RNG try to catch it for you from the larger pool. You are doing something right to get your 1-3 right from a 10-12 number pool...carry it on to a 25 number pool and you might have all five in your pool. You've already lowered your o

Which Method
Vtracs is what I have used the most, Im still learning so I have not tried the others as of yet but vtracs seems to be in the ball park most of the time although I get alot of 1 number offs more than hits. Maybe combining vtracs with something else will help increase the hitts here in Illinois

MegaMillions and Quick Pick
RJOH...actually I am trying to design a scheme to increase the chances of a person's quick picks that MM terminals give out. The thread just got a little off track. But the principle I am working on is this......if 70% of the winners come from the 70% of quick picks....then can't an individual set up some cookie crumbs that lead the MM back to that person's quick picks or close to it? If my ever ongoing theory that money outflow control is at work then perhaps there is a way to make the MM c

tennessee lotto 5
I respectfully disagree. Three times a week is enough; two times a week would not be. The jackpot has been known to hit one million on ocassions. The last large jackpot reached over 800 thousand. Going to five days a week would put a serious hurt on those larger jackpots for two reasons. Going to a daily game will 1) result in fewer tickets being sold between draws and 2) increase the number of winners to the point where the jackpot would hardly reach 200 thousand. I like bigger jackpot
