N.C. lottery expands vending machine use
North Carolina Education Lottery Commission officials are hoping a new deal that will allow players to purchase Powerball and other game tickets from vending machines will help extend the lottery's reach into more retail chain stores, like Walmart.
The deal was made on Tuesday with GTECH Corp., which runs ticket printing and logistics for the state lottery. GTECH will provide the extra machines at no charge, in exchange for the state extending their contract with the company for four more yea

NY Lottery OKs video table games
The New York Lottery will permit state-run casinos to add video roulette, baccarat, craps and blackjack next year even if the Assembly fails to authorize the move.
We are ready to move forward now, said New York Lottery Deputy Director Bill Murray. We don't think we need the legislation.
Murray, who also is general counsel for the Lottery, announced the state's plan to allow video versions of traditional casino table games today during 8th annual New York Gaming Summit at the Gideon Putn

Piqua lottery winners sued by co-workers
Four Piqua residents are suing their city co-workers who won the $207 million Mega Millions lottery earlier this month, claiming the winners didn't keep their word about sharing any winnings with all regular players.
And they want $41 million.
A lawsuit claiming breach of contract and conversion was filed Tuesday, Dec. 23, in Miami County Common Pleas Court by Doug Harter, Israel Carnes, Tammy K. Wright and Jon Litchfield, all of Piqua.
Named as defendants are winners: Kenny Kirby, John

Format for the Ideal Lottery Pool
1. 120 million
2. 5-10
3. $2
4. No, and no quick picks.
5. Too little for a pole= 1
Too many= 11 or more
I think most of the people in the MY pole believe, that when you were born it was known right there your fate. No matter how big or how small the adventure would be, its going to come. I mean statiscally you can give yourself better odds at hitting, but the odds are already so tremendous. If you are relying on dumb luck, then you better hope one of those people in your grou

Not all Retailers Pay Out to $599
This is the rule in NC from the Lottery Commission and the Retailer contract.
A lottery game retailer will make the purchase and redemption of lottery tickets convenient and readily
accessible to the public. Lottery tickets will be available for sale during the lottery game retailers
normal business hours; the lottery game retailer agrees to provide for the redemption of winning
tickets during the same hours, up to the amount established by the Commission and subject to the

Easy come, easy go... or maybe not!
I posted this news article about a guy who won a 1.8 million lotto, but the ticket originally was printed in error so he ask for it to be reprinted, which I did not know it could be done. Anyway what would you do in this situation??? Fight it out in court or throw chances to the wind, also has anyone encountered this issue with any ticket, winning or not??? It just seemed odd......

The N.C. Lottery board had a similiar case last year. an Ex-Convict won a million dollars by matching all five white balls with the powerplay option.
quess what?...because of a stipulation in his parole contract stating no gambling they didn't pay him!!!.
Now obviously the Florida man must have not

6 Disturbing Lottery "Trends"
Disturbing Lottery Trends : (in no particular order)
1) Computerization of lotteries
2) Increasing standard/typical lottery tickets to TWO dollars from one dollar [example: PA's Match 6]
3) Decreasing amount of prizes on ALL levels [example: PA's new Mix Match which I have renamed Flip Switch and their Match 6, renamed Botched 6 -- search my previous posts for explanations]
4) Millionaire Raffle Drawings that truly do not offer $1,000,000 after taxes
5) Succeeding or follo
