Mega Millions lottery jackpot reaches $117 million
From what I've seen it looks like only about 20% of players choose the power play option, so I'm not sure that qualifies as popularity. It obviously doesn't cause much excitement for the 80% who don't bother with it. I htink that makes the proper question do the other states see it as a money maker ?
I figure that some of the people who choose power play buy the same number of tickets they'd buy if power play wasn't an option, so those people spend twice as much on tickets. Other people spen

the future of mega millions and powerball
There are people who will play regardless. Just like casinos, the lotteries are in the greed and ego business as much as they are the gambling and entertainment business.
100 number matrix? I'll be the one to hit it!
Too many people think like that and that's why the matrixes increase.

You guys want to make some money?
Yes, like (perhaps) changing the additive factor; 111, or 666, or 888. If I'm reading Cashman's posts correctly, I believe X IS the previous draw. Now I've taken x and divided by PI and added 111, and 666 and 888 to it. I have also taken the previous draw and made the six possible combinations from it (excluding doubles of course) and have put it through the formula with 111, 666, and 888. This provides 18 numbers. Using these formula, I have found several hits. What I have NOT done yet is

Florida Fantasy 5's New EZMATCH
Hi, Pac. Yup, that's exactly the way I felt the first time I bought a Grouper. I know I got a free ticket but not only do they choose the numbers, they choose which game is the free one. One time the clerk only gave me 5 tickets and I finally got the 6th ticket after making a stink about it. (as if I wouldn't notice?) At first the Fantasy 5 new option looked interesting to me, but now that you Duckman mention it, maybe it's not a good deal after all. I knew it was an instant win on the EZ

still playing since the matrix change?
I remember when the MUSL announced its matrix change it anticipated players complaining about the game being harder to win and it responded by suggesting they play Hot Lotto if they don't like ridiculous odds. There is no game that can get enough sales to support high payouts if the game does not have astronomical odds like Powerball and Mega Millions do. I remember last year Powerball got a lucky string of wins and sales tanked - that is reality. Players will either complain the game is too

Mega Millions Sets A New Record
The Mega Millions lottery set a new 4 roll record of $56 million for the March 17 draw. The previous Mega Millions 4 roll record was $43 million. This is a $13 million increase over the previous record and is larger than the current 5 roll record of $53 million.
The Powerball 4 roll record is $50.7 million and was set in the current jackpot run.
One of the main reasons for the roll records for both Powerball amd Mega Millions is the rise in US interest rates. The cash raised by tickets sa

PI method
Of course! Where are my manners??
Thanks also to pac for starting the original ball rolling. Have gone through the next 6 months in NJ, and did not fair as well, but still turned a nice profit: 37 hits / 24 misses; $2800 profit in the second half of 2005. Would have been a real hair pulling six months however - it was a rollercoaster ride!!!! I know I may be screwing up the whole system by asking this, but have you considered applying filters to this method? It may reduce the number

Mega Millions at $18 million......
This has to be a new record. The sales data is amazing also. They sold 20.1 million tickets for this last drawing. I am assuming it is from the previous large jackpot, but the rollover has never been that much. Usually at the minimum $12 million jackpot they sell around $13,000,000 in tickets. Thats almost more than a 50% increase. This jackpot run will break records on every jackpot if it stays this way. Could this be the first $400,000,000 jackpot.

If you are going to buy 46+ tickets.....
You only see a decrease in odds if the white numbers are all the same. There was someone else who was confused between the words odds and combinations. Your odds increase to 1:3.8 million if and only if all white numbers are the same for all 46 numbers. This method insures that you will get the right megaball. This is not a cheap way of playing though.
You can also cover the same megaball for all different white ball combinations. If and only if you guessed the right megaball you now have ho

NJ Cash 5 - How much closer can you get?
You and me both LOTTOMIKE! Can we get some kind of petition going to gather the troups who want to see some of these Cash 5 games online. Perhaps Todd can help in that regard.
Anyway, I believe NJ is one of the highest odds Cash 5 games going with 40 balls. Most others have between 36-39. It's remarkable how much the odds jump from 39 to 40 balls (~80,000:1 increase!). With a game having 36 balls, it's only (ONLY!) ~377,000:1. NJ Cash 5 is closer to 658,000:1. Plus the odds of going fr
