Canada joining Powerball or Mega Millions
Quote: Originally posted by DoctorEw220 on February 18, 2006I brought up the idea of Powerball going international to the MUSL a long while ago.  They said that they were not interested at this time.  The way I see it now is that eventually they are going to run out of states to lure into the game and either remain static at the states in the game or expand it internationally.  couldn't they allow the sales of Powerball at duty-free stores in Canada.  Don't they accept American curency?

Best Method to Collect - Powerball
on a jackpot this big, I might be tempted to take the annuity (over 7 million a year), wait until a democrat is elected and sell the balance of the payments to one of those companies that does such a thing before the inevitable tax increase... the other scenario is to find out how much it would cost to buy supplimental insurance on about 100,000,000 and have it wired to an account all at once... they make you pick an account to wire the winnings to, I can't imagine letting all those millions

How do you take it
Remember, from a tax perspective, the state, city, county, and the Feds can always change the tax liability upwards. As the need increases, the temptation to do so increases. There isn't a state out there that will ever have enough money, and will always be looking for additional revenue. Once you choose annuity, it will always be annuity - unless you choose to sell it at a loss and pay even more taxes. The Govenor of New Jersey has made three speechs about the state being financially ban

How high can a State Lottery go
It looks like there aren't enough people to drive the prize payout up that fast. If you look at the payout history for IL and MI lotto games, they don't increase that much per drawing either. Both states have higher populations than IN. IL has 12M people to IN's 6M people. IL has a ball drawing, MI has RNG. Maybe these multi-state games (MM PB) have taken a lot of the thunder out of the local lottos, aside from the big-boys like CA, FL, NY, TX.

Proposal takes aim at Lottery sales pitch to teens
Some lawmakers want to prohibit the Washington Lottery from advertising to anyone under 21 after learning the agency wants to increase its sales to teenagers. The proposed advertising ban has been added to a House bill that would increase the gambling age to 21 in nontribal card rooms and minicasinos. The amendment tells the Lottery to be a little more cautious, said Rep. Mary Helen Roberts, D-Edmonds, the bill's prime sponsor. Lottery spokeswoman Jacque Coe, said the agency's 2005-07

Are cold numbers a loosing stratagy?
I have to admit I didn't do any analysis of the cold numbers. 9 hadn't come up as a lucky star and was approaching the record number of drawings between the times it has shown up. It just seemed like a good idea to try and cover one of the lucky numbers so if it did come up it would increase my odds for my tickets winning. I think next time I will try to calculate a mean number they occur and go from there. It's just that when jackpots get big you just want to try something to boost your odds

Euro Millions Lottery Sparks Buying Frenzy With $224 Million Top Prize
For MegaMillions and Powerball, both annuity and cash value are advertised - and promoted. The human eye only see's what it wants to see. There is a simple solution to your worrying about not being paid any winnings from an online service. Don't buy from them. Walk away. No chains, no pressure. Hummm - no winnings either. Income is income! The IRS calls it income tax because they tax your income. Why would you think you could increase your income in America, regardless how, and n

So here it is without my bad mouthing PTS like before, that caused it to be deleted in the first place! New approach....
Since I have about a week and a half left, and my vacation is over, I want to try something new.... Still watch or play my posted numbers for each specific state, but, I want to try to get a boxed hit, with playing only 7 numbers, within atleast 8 drawings or less. That way, the payouts will be MUCH more rewarding.... Here are 7 numbers to play in these 7 states' pick 3....ga, ill, nj, ny, pa, tn, scPlay them eve and midd, and give them atleast 8 drawings or less to hit, which is equal to 4 day

Prime Ticket Service in January?
This thread is now locked, and I deleted the last post, because I am not going to allow people to use Lottery Post to unfairly bash an excellent company like PTS. Somebody had made a good comment in one of these threads about how they are not a huge company like GM or Ford -- they are a small company providing a great service, and they do so without scamming people or ripping them off, unlike so many other outfits out there. They have said repeatedly that they are seeking more payment methods in
