on a jackpot this big, I might be tempted to take the annuity (over 7 million a year), wait until a democrat is elected and sell the balance of the payments to one of those companies that does such a thing before the inevitable tax increase... the other scenario is to find out how much it would cost to buy supplimental insurance on about 100,000,000 and have it wired to an account all at once... they make you pick an account to wire the winnings to, I can't imagine letting all those millions

It looks like there aren't enough people to drive the prize payout up that fast. If you look at the payout history for IL and MI lotto games, they don't increase that much per drawing either. Both states have higher populations than IN. IL has 12M people to IN's 6M people. IL has a ball drawing, MI has RNG. Maybe these multi-state games (MM PB) have taken a lot of the thunder out of the local lottos, aside from the big-boys like CA, FL, NY, TX.

I have to admit I didn't do any analysis of the cold numbers. 9 hadn't come up as a lucky star and was approaching the record number of drawings between the times it has shown up. It just seemed like a good idea to try and cover one of the lucky numbers so if it did come up it would increase my odds for my tickets winning. I think next time I will try to calculate a mean number they occur and go from there. It's just that when jackpots get big you just want to try something to boost your odds
