PA Lottery to start Powerball ticket promotion
Based on my personal rough calculation, driven mainly by an interesting debate here, of the expected values in each of 3 cases, that is, (1) PB with no PP ($1 per ticket), (2) PB with PP but for the regular price ($2 per ticket), and (3) PB with PP but for PA state promotional price ($1.66 per ticket = $10/6), it seems that at 167M annuity 1. PA players are expected to get paid slightly higher when buying 5 tickets for the regular price of $10 and getting one free ticket, all with PP option. But

Lotto Texas - World's Worst Jackpot Game?
I think 6/49 would be best matrix for Lotto Texas. While millions of Texans buy Lotto tickets, a large of percentage of the state's residents are opposed to gambling.Texas population is roughly 23 million. One would expect that a third would be in the game every Wednesday and Saturday. But, a review of the sales, posted at lottoreport.com, shows the average is about 1.5 to 2 million. This number increases when the jackpots grow, such as the recent Mega Millions jackpot, but falls drastically when

High gas prices may be cutting into lottery sales
The evidence is far from conclusive, but some people in the business think high gasoline prices have cut into lottery sales in New Hampshire.Rick Wisler, executive director of the state Lottery Commission, is among them, at least with respect to instant tickets. He reasons that with prices so high, many drivers are using credit or debit cards to pay for gasoline. That means they don't have cash in hand, which depresses impulse purchases such as instant lottery tickets. We believe, although there

Texas Lottery May Eliminate Lotto Bonus Number
'5 + Bonus' format was a flop with playersLotto Texas players might be saying bye-bye to the bonus ball. One of the proposals being floated by the Texas Lottery Commission is to eliminate the new five numbers and bonus ball matrix and return to a 'pick six of fifty' (6/50) format for the Lotto game, which is the flagship of the Texas Lottery. I don't think that has been discussed specifically, but I think we're discussing all formats for the matrix, to determine what would be the best, to make it

Economy filters: SHTH if you can’t beat..
The following maybe of interest to 6/49 players: As a newbie to filtering I m really shocked by the large number of failures in the width of line and gap s range filters. I thought these were inoffensive, bog standard traditional filters. Increasing the passes of these two filters, seems to exponentially increase the number of generated combinations. I wanted to resolve the surprisingly different failure rates of LH (2-4) and O/E (2-4) filters during my dry paper runs?!! If the theoretica
