$400 MILLION: Powerball jackpot skyrockets
Given that the cash values of these current jackpots are lower than previous years does taking the annuity payments become more attractive. I know most people always take the cash option but it seems as if the cash option is getting lower and lower with respect to the current jackpot(annuity) to cash ratio. .........

Different totals in Jackpot Analysis
It took a minute, but I figured it out. His left number is the advertised jackpot/annuity amount. His middle number is the cash value amount. His right number is the amount after the 25% Federal Tax amount has been deducted. What he's saying is that the roll over amount is different sometimes. MegaMillions is typically $12,000,000 annuity with $9,000,000 as the cash value. But this Tuesday, it's at $12,000,000 annuity and $8,000,000 for cash value (TX Lottery site says it's at $8,200,000

What to do with megamillions?
I hope so, I also sent suggestions to my state to offer annuity options such as 21,26,31,36,41 year and annuity for life payments per player choice...or, of course, cash.

Annuity or Lump Sum?
I not sure what the taxes on annuity payments would be or if the taxes are taken from the lump sum and then the annuity payments come from that but personally I would take the lump sum pay the tax and find a top notch wealth manager to invest the money and just draw payments from the interest earned.

Tennessee to add Hot Lotto multi-state lottery game
One thing I didn't realize about the game change... They are doing away with the annuity option. Hmm. I have said in another thread that I think that I would prefer the annuity, for the steady income stream. I guess now if I win, I'll just have to find my own investment(s) to get that steady income stream.

What Age is "too old" to even consider 20-30 year PB or MM jackpot payments?
Lump sum for sure but if I had to get the annuity, my cut off age would be 90 years old. I fully intend to live to be 120 years old and to be able to collect every single annuity check. Of course what we intend to happen and what might actually happen may end up being two very different things.....

Would you split the MM/PB jackpot evenly amongst family members if you Won?
the word is annuity. I have no idea what an annunity is supposed to be. Definition of ANNUITY 1: a sum of money payable yearly or at other regular intervals 2: the right to receive an annuity 3: a contract or agreement providing for the payment of an annuity

Multi State Jackpot Fever
Powerball will probably have to rise to at least $750 million annuity for it to produce the record CASH jackpot, since its annuity is larger than Mega Millions for any given cash jackpot.
