The 29 lotteries that participate in the Powerball game have voted to make changes that will boost the average jackpot size, but also will boost the odds of winning.Starting Aug. 29, the beginning jackpot will increase to $15 million from the current $10 million, the Multi-State Lottery Association announced Wednesday. The top prize will grow by no less than $5 million between each drawing. Lottery games need to be changed from time to time, to respond to both player demands and population chang

Group finds winning lottery ticket a month after the drawing
A lottery pool of shop workers who play the UK Lotto spoke today of their delight at discovering that an unchecked lottery ticket left in their office was worth 5 million (US$9.4 million). The winning ticket was found in a plastic cup a full month after the lucky workers numbers came up in the Christmas Eve Lotto Superdraw, matching numbers 15, 19, 24, 36, 37 and 49.The 12 members of the pool, who worked at Pennys clothes shop and Penmark Cards, in Allestree, Derbyshire, could not conceal their

The New York Lottery Games: Jimmy Style
O.K. Numbers, Win4, and Quick Draw will remain unchanged. And the only changes I have for Pick 10 are televising the drawings, and a rolling jackpot beginning at $500,000 and grows by at least $50,000 each draw.Take Five:The most prominent features will remain unchanged. Still pick 5 of 39, still $1, and still daily. But the prize structure is the big change.Match 5-40% of Prize PoolMatch 4-30% of Prize PoolMatch 3-30% of Prize PoolMatch 2-Still a free ticket. In addition, in the rare dvent (it's

PB Drawing for Saturday 12-18-04

Does this mean your odds of matching 5of5 is improved by playing from a pool of 10 numbers instead of 53?RJOhRJO

Wheel Design - Help Wanted
Quote: Originally posted by DreamLotto on December 1, 2004Dear Bob and Nick,Thank you so much for fixing my problem! Lovely wheel, indeed! And a bonus thanks for Nick, who is so rare on this forum but descends like an angel when we need help!!I have a question related to above wheel: If it has a 100% guarantee of hitting a 4 if 5 or 6 drawn numbers are in 14, then WHAT are the chances of the 6th number being there, using the SAME wheel?!I wanted to know because I intend using the above wheel as

MegaMillions picks...08/17/04
RJOh-Although the methods I use are different than the ones you describe for reducing the number pool, the philosophy and strategy behind it is the same:Provide improved odds for all potential prize wins some of the time, at the expense of eliminating chances to win major prizes some of the time(Your methods are excellent, btw, and show that you spend a considerable amount of time studying these games! As you've probably seen, no single method of analysis works for all games, or even consistentl

Online Lottery Pool
Quote: Originally posted by Todd on March 03, 2004 waynr,Who knows? Maybe someday. It would take a great deal of research on my part to make it happen. I would want to make sure everything was bullet-proof before embarking on such an endeavor.I also have some other ideas kicking around -- things that exist nowhere on the planet -- that might even be better than pools. Unfortunately, because of the complexity, it will be some time before even the concept can be revealed. (Probably after I ap

Online Lottery Pool
When I wrote if it were offered on the Lottery Post website , I wasn't talking about an invitation to join posted to a discussion forum. What I had in mind is dead already if Todd gives it the thumbs down. I was talking about Todd providing an area for lottery pools. Try to visualize the following: Another menu button added on the left side of the page. It could be named LP Pools. Under this button are three submenus consisting of:Ongoing Pools (Locked and viewable only to the members of each p
