MUSL - Fried with 12 Jimmys and Spices
PowerballObviously, there have been a lot of winners. Of course this is a big deal with a rolling jackpot game. Changes are needed, but not radical changes. My Matrix : 5/55 + 1/40. Just enough to get the pots rolling again. Maybe increase some of the payouts, not sure which ones though.Hot LottoWhen you create a game, you don't want to create a runty twin of your flagship game. Variety is the spice of life, and the only way to run a lottery. What Hot Lotto needs to do is, like I've said many ti

Powerball Matrix Change?
That arguement would be like saying Microsoft or Adobe products should be less then 20$ because the price of pressing cd's is only pennies.Lotteries have far more competition from online gaming and small casino's then in the past.dvdiva:I can't buy your comparison to microsoft. An overpriced product is still a product. It goes for what the traffic will bear. If it doesn't sell at the price, someone will reduce a price and sell it as New and Used on Amazon, or on Ebay, or down at the corner di

Powerball changing, will you still play?
Personally, trying to predict which numbers will fall in a jackpot game with such a large matrix as Powerball already has is pretty near impossible. You can end up spending oodles on wheels and most of the time you're lucky if you get a lower tier prize or two. Therefore, I play 2-3 bucks at most, and I just randomly pick 5 numbers from the white balls, then let the RNG pick the powerball. It's only 2-3 bucks, and definitely have as good a chance as if I was trying to force certain numbers t

Streak of jackpot winners is bad luck for Powerball lottery sales
Quote: Originally posted by hitchaser on March 17, 2005the goal of the people who run these games is to generate higher sales through more people playing for a higher jackpot. the goal of real lottery players is to win enough money to get out of the rat race. thesetwo goals have nothing to do with one another.hitchaser...State lottery directors are paid very well to look out for the welfare of the states in running the lottery games. As a player, my interest is in trying to win a jackpot. Frankl

Texas Lottery Approves Mega Millions Changes
I agree. I would like to see no changes until 1 year after CA joins. Before they increase the odds again, they should address why the anticipated and advertised $300-500 million jackpots didn't happen even before TX CA joined. Personally, I'm glad the $300-500 million jackpot never happened, since I don't think anyone really needs more than $30 million and having more winners makes it more fun. No winner week after week is not only dreary, it reminds you how bad the odds are. But the lottery

ball drawings vs. computer drawings
On the lottoreport website there was a link to a NPR broadcast in which a member of the Texas lottery commission admitted a computer RNG programmed to pick 4 more often than 3 or 2 was used to pick their MM multiplier to encourage players to use the MM multiplier option which generated more money for the State of Texas. A local professor argued that since the #2 had not been picked in over 3 month, the program was not a RNG but a program designed to pick numbers to increase lottery sales. One

Mega Billions
Here's a format that Powerball or Mega Millions could adopt.5/50 + 2/25.Match 5+2: Odds 1:635,628,000. Rolling jackpot, minimum $50,000,000.Match 5+1: Odds 1:13,818,000. $2,000,000 payout!Match 5+0: Odds around 1:2,500,000. $300,000 payout!Additional payouts for 4+2, 4+1, 4+0, so on and so forth, down to 1+1.$2,000,000 for second prize! And who wouldn't want to play for a jackpot that rolls to one or two billion! It's a deceptively simple matrix, and the lottery could afford to pay out 50-55%

Someone hit mega - needs a fix
Quote: Originally posted by dvdiva on March 3, 2005Not true. Powerball has broken 300 million twice. The big game once but never played that. I don't complain about jackpots if it matches the prize. Quinto's jackpot is now 4.8 million in cash equal to 1.86 times it's odds. For mega/powerball to match that odds ratio it would have to have a jackpot of 500 million. For a game where the odds are 135 million to one not even to hit it's odds as an annuity is a sign of a broken game. Something that th
