Lottery riches are only one component of happiness
Let's cut right to the chase here. How much money is enough? How much would make you happy this holiday season? We mean really happy. A million? $10 million? $100 million? The age-old question of whether money can buy happiness plays out in the headlines daily. Jewel Whittaker, wife of the lottery winner who took home the richest undivided jackpot in U.S. history a lump-sum payout of about $113 million after taxes now says she regrets his purchase of the ticket that won the $314.9 million jackp

PowerBall 12-25-04: The Pigskin Challenge
The Pigskin Challenge 1. A challenger must declare himself to be a participant in the challenge for the current PowerBall drawing when posting his numbers. Don't forget to do this. Otherwise, your efforts will count for naught.2. A declared challenger must select a field of at least five numbers and no more than sixteen numbers from the 5/53 matrix of the PowerBall game.3. A minimum of three draw numbers must be matched in order to be in contention for meeting or beating the current benchmark o

PowerBall 12-22-04: The Pigskin Challenge
JAG331, pigskin, kbcherokee, et alI wasn't trying to be a grinch. I was just trying to keep the challenge meaningful and promote improved prediction skills. I'd be glad to have the Chief as a participant in the challenge. In fact, I think I've come up with a way that he can use his twelve numbers. Actually, under these proposed new rules, I'd like to drop down to using just nine numbers for my selection field. Here's what I have in mind. The Pigskin ChallengeA challenger must declare himself to b

Sign the petition - eliminate computerized drawings!
Excellent article Jim! By the way, I have probably spent enough this year to break anyone and still cannot hit for a simple 100.00 here in Indiana. I need to check my tickets for today but I believe I hit in SC today on 3877. I can go through my thousands of tickets and get winners everywhere but here. Like Jim said SC has a great Lottery when u compare it to Indiana. This Lottery should be named off by one every other day. I personally believe that there is no way I could get these kind of resu

Texas 12/09 Midday 679...That's it.
Justin,Thanks for the info. It's easy to miss. I had the 158 in a group of 28 combinations that I worked out. I just tried to narrow it down a great deal more. That's why I settled on 679. 679 might come along tonight on next Midday - you know how that goes - believe in a number, it doesn't hit, you move on, the it hits.I don't play online and don't know how. I have to go to the local convenience store and pay the minimum of 50 cents. So, if I had played all 28 numbers it would have cost $

A MAJOR gripe about Powerball!!
Hi folks,I've been lurking for quite some time now, but decided to join this evening (and thank you, Todd, for setting up this site).OK, now on to my little rant that I've have with Powerball! As you probably know by now, there was a winner in last Saturday's draw, but the powers-to-be had decided NOT to inform the players about it untill AFTER tonight's drawing!!! WTF is up with that? Is the MUSL actually withholding winning info in order to increase the pot a little higher? This is not the only

computerized drawings...a finding
Quote: Originally posted by Konformthismfs on December 4, 2004Computerized drawings are here to stay and spreading like a virus! My opinion is they have only one purpose and that's to increase the Lotteries bottom line (and Gtech's). They could care less about who wins, loses or someone's system. It's set up to play the numbers with the least payout and maximum profit. So the days of bettin $20 on 1 line and winning are pretty much over with. Tenn. Lottery Director Gets Pay Cut
Tennessee Lottery director Rebecca Paul is getting a pay cut under a new plan adopted by the states lottery board Monday.Paul said she anticipated a drop in incentive pay because the $350,000 in bonuses she received for the first year was based on a very aggressive startup schedule. The recommendations of an approximately $85,000 independent study were approved by the Tennessee Education Lottery Corporation (TEL) board and would set Pauls salary at a total of $577,000. The salary assumes a $350,0

Hmmm, law of averages perhaps ?
Hello all, i stumbled onto this site and got sucked in ! So this is my first post, please be gentle :)I have been working on various programs for four years on off and refuse (stubbonly) to believe that it's impossible to predict the lottery (yea i know call me stupid).Mathematically (i'm no mathematician) each lotto draw is an independent dvent which takes no notice of any previous draws or results. Physically the balls cannot have a memory or a program, i understand all this however, it seem
