It wasn't until Taylor saw a television news report with her image from the gas station's security camera that she thought she might have the winning ticket, said Olga Gallardo, a spokeswoman for the California State Lottery. --Justxploring this is the part of the article where she said she didnt know she wont until she saw her image on the security camera footage that was shown on the news.

$93 million lottery winner has yet to claim her prize
There are many reasons why a lottery winner would wait to claim it but there is also the chance that person doesn't know they are holding winning ticket. The store owner may have viewed the tape for that reason or maybe he was just curious, but either way it's still his tape. Since the article doesn't say the tape was released to the public and there is no reason to assume it will be.

Tenn. Lottery created discontent with move to computerized drawings
Yes he is, and I'm glad he wrote the article. The Tennessean contacted me about writing it too but I didn't have time. I think he and I were one of the first people that were interviewed about what had happened. I was told to ask you lottomike, from a couple of other LP members, to see if you would write a editorial about it but didn't have time to get in touch with you.

Maryland Lottery revenues hit record $1.5 billion
Interesting article.Nice to know that as a neighboring state and a person who enjoys playing Mega Millions, that they *rely* on my NOT winning. So far they are doing well with my funds. Shortly though I hope to disappointment them by WINNING the jackpot :P

Would You Lie?
You're right justx...they don't give a rat's bee-hind how you picked the numbers if they are your own. If they're not quick picks, it just makes good press to fill the article up with something... like birthdays, ages, the number of teeth you have left, etc. I would lie and say I came up with 32 for the teeth thing. Actually it's 4 and they would figure out I was lying during the interview.

Kansas Lottery sets sales record
Apparently people would rather play the games with better odds. 27% is a big drop in sales. Another news article on LP reports that a woman won $12.9M in Hot Lotto. That game has odds of 1 in 10.9M as opposed to 1 in 146M for PB.

Employees hit Florida Lottery raffle jackpot
This is a nice story. The article didn't say the ticket was claimed in the name of a Trust. I don't know how that would affect the total tax, but I think the IRS will consider that to be one win so they might get hit with the tax on the entire million. Still, getting over $80,000 clear is a nice surprise...a lot better than my zero!

Blue Moon Triples 6/27-7/3
In recent times, people have taken to calling a full moon a blue moon based on the Gregorian calendar. By this use of the term, a blue moon is the second of two full moons to occur in the same calendar month. This definition of blue moon originated from a mistake in an article in the March 1946 Sky Telescope magazine, which failed in an attempt to infer the earlier definition used in the original Farmer's Almanac (see above). It was helped to popularity when Deborah Byrd of Earth Sky walked

Dumbing Yourself Down To Win The Lotto
The article on Wikipedia is very nice. Indeed it could be considered a heavy reading for persons without practice. I wonder if everyone could understand all the words. In reality, I understood some parts , there was others that even resemble a IQ or general knowledge (culture fair) test !
