Lottery Pools - Your Thoughts??
Play in them? I run ours in the office. So far, the best we did is split 6 months worth of proceeds with a $10 share. Maybe I should explain how ours works: There are 12 people in the pool. Every week a participant takes their turn and purchases $25 worth of tickets of their choice for the pool. [The original Pool master went around and collected $2 from everybody.--the current system is a vast improvement]. Winnings of $60 or more at one time [change from $100] are immediately split , a

Minimum Draws For Analysis
I had to discard my vote. The selections you provided have some valid values. However, there are two ways that I approach how many draws I'd use as a statistical set. The typical number of draw that is statistically sound is 1500. 1500 is O.K., but I dont have that long to wait. If Id waited for 1500 draws in Powerball at the start of the new format, I would be waiting for a long time; about 14.3 years. So, I wait till the draws get to a point where most of the numbers in the pool of numbers has

New York Lotto $45M
You are correct that the jackpot was $45 million on March 6, 2002, the last time it was this big. The interesting thing is if you look at the run-up to the $45 million jackpot. The previous jackpot was $35 million, and the jackpot before that was $27 million. Obviously, a lot of people were playing in order to make it jump like that. This time, the jackpot is jumping in increments of about $2 million per drawing (last drawing was $43 million), meaning that a lot fewer people are playing now.

Protest Changing the Big Game!
Hi Everyone,Like all of you, I too, play the Big Game. BUT I was alarmed to find out the following notice posted on the website recently: The Big Game will be reconfigured to include a larger pool of numbers to select from .We do NOT want a LARGER pool of numbers because that will make it that much HARDER to win! The LESS numbers the BETTER the odds of us winning! But the MORE numbers to choose from, the WORSE the odds are, that is, it will be even HARDER for us to win.I don't want this game re
