MM Winner Press Coverage
Two things that surprised me when reading our article in the newspaper. 1: That he gets the full amount in ten days! 2: That he even came forward so soon. Truly its the most unwise thing a person can do, other then running down the street screaming they are a the jackpot winner, and having the winning ticket blow off in the wind! Our newspaper does National News so the article was written from the Associated Press and not our local writers. I sense this man is going to regret coming

Lottery winner followed careful spending plan
In this article he stated that it was an unoffical amount of net worth. It is probably all precieved as fairmarket value of realestate development. From my experience in realestate development those guys can purchase a burn and turn for huge gains before they even sell it. Same with oil and gas industry. That is probably why his time frame does not match his claim, it is unrealized and also tax consideration. I would say his time frame is still aggressive but defintely within his reach.

Lottery winner followed careful spending plan
As this article was published in Fortune Magazine and written by a staff writer from Fortune, don't you think either the writer or editor of the story should have looked into this claim just a bit? It seems like quite a few folks on this site very quickly came to the conclusion that growing $80 million to $128 to $130 million in 18 months is a bit suspect. Heck if it is true far more readers of Fortune would rather know how that was accomplished versus how well a lottery winner is doing and ye

Record Jackpots excluding current Mega
When I started this I had 20 most of which I had to get the cash amount by Googling for newspaper articles from just after the win. Since everyone on the list choosed the cash amount it was fairly easy. My earlier lists included a CA superlotto win that I could never find a good cash amount for. Later I pared it down to 15. The list is just a text file on my desktop that I don't change unless something actually breaks the cash amount on the list. Actually you suggested I pare it down since all o

Biggest U.S Jackpots winners: Do you know them?
The $340 million Powerball winning family. The Chaney's and West's. Mr. Chaney passed away in 2006. Their was an article in the Oregonian that both families started charitable foundation to assist people with in their community with the winnings and that they did not spend money lavishly. The bulk of their winnings went to help others.-weshar75

Mega Millions lottery jackpot increased to $216 million
It's funny cause there was just an article that said people aren't playing as much as they used to. I still insist that more people play when jackpots are higher, we all know that there are slim odds, but when the jackpot is steep, what's a few bucks? People spend over $5 a day on cigarettes, so that's pretty much how I justify spending $10 on large lotto drawings. Someone's gotta win right?

'Lucky guy' sells ticket that wins half of $42 mllion Lotto jackpot
Thanks for clarifying. So most who chose to misinterpret the sentences and add a spin to it came to such conclusion. Good thing that I took the original article as it was composed. With no Underlying intent by the cashier.

anyone thought of this:ScratchOffs Syndicate
I was reading this article about lottery winners sharing their secrets: http://www.thepittsburghchannel.com/news/10913133/detail.html# And it had me thinking, I don't think anyone has thought of this..Why don't they do Scratch-Offs Sindicate/grouping...I think they would be better off instead of going after 170 million combinations/odds like Powerball MegaMillions..If you read the article they tell you that some rolls cost 300 dollars..If you divide 300 dollars between 20 or 30 persons it b

Sex offender wins $14 million Florida Lotto jackpot
Shame on all of you for assuming how bad this guy was after reading the article. Sirbrad, your comments disgust me. Yes, I have didain for these sex offenders on innocent children, but labelling him before you know the facts behind it is simply astounding. You guys need to take a step back and look yourselves in the mirror. Compare him to Michael Jackson.........sheesh!
