Jack Whittaker: un-luckiest lottery winner ever
I first noticed the blog on this subject, so that's where I posted. Just wanted to tell Todd that I didn't know he created that image. Not being technical, it's so good I just assumed it came from a recent news article. So if I ever decide to go back to dating I'll send you a photo and you can touch it up a little for me, okay?

Benford's Law
Read the article on Benford's Law and learned the the number one is a more probable number to come out from one to nine more often. How does that fit in to the Texas pick three's midday and evenings???? Thanks. AL.

New lawsuit claims Indiana Lottery did not award all prizes
The article doesn't provide enough information, but it's entirely possible that the odds weren't compromised. If the available prizes were reduced by 25% and the number of available tickets was also reduced by 25% the odds would remain the same. If the proper odds were clearly listed, but the number of prizes was listed incorrectly the odds wouldn't change, but anyone trying to calculate odds based on available prizes and the number of tickets remaining to be sold would get the wrong answer.

Spain goes bullistic as big, fat lottery faces bald truth
Does anyone know how this works? The article says people spend the equivalent of $100 US, is that in a number of tickets or just one? Also, how does one shop have most of the winners, is it just by luck of the draw or is it set uo that way? As there are only 85,000 tickets sold, is this a raffle type drawing? How much of the proceeds go to fund the winning tickets?

Secrets of lottery millionaires
Good article. Last year I was interviewing for a job at an Aston Martin dealership. While I was in the showroom, I looked at the sticker price on the DB9 and gasped. People tell me I'd change if I won millions, but I doubt if I'd ever buy a car that expensive.

Despite dire predictions, Net gambling not changed by new U.S. law
This is what I've been saying all along, to anyone who would listen. All the scurrying about and worrisome posts have been overreactions. Thanks to eedith for the heads-up on the article.

Florida lottery raffle tickets being illegally re-sold
Wow...compare this story to the one below where some people think $20 is too much for a lottery ticket. Now according to this article people are willing to pay hundreds for a ticket. Go figure!!

Illinois woman wins $7 million lottery jackpot
Cash, you're right. IL is like FL. I won't complain if I win a jackpot, but I think 90 days would be better. The IRS also has a rule about collecting money, but I think the decision has to be made within 60 days of the claim, not the draw. A previous article said the winner was seeking financial advice before they announced her name, so whatever she does, she's at least gotten professional counseling.
Coin Toss, I'm not saying it's a good or bad financial decision, but many people with chil
