How to win the lottery (happily)
Really don't think this study is all that helpful for big US jackpot winners. $250,000 - $1 million is enough to pay off student loans, credit cards, car payments etc., especially if there are no taxes to deal with, but not enough to have their names and faces plastered everywhere so they get hounded for life. Not to mention that relatives/friends wouldn't expect large handouts. When they do a study of people who have won $50 million or more, those results would be more telling. $250,000 is

How to win the lottery (happily)
If you have won the lottery, or if you plan to do so, please keep reading this column. The information is vital not just to your happiness but also to the progress of social science. You have a chance to dispel the notion of the curse of the lottery, which is blamed whenever a big winner ends up divorced, depressed, destitute or dead. Journalists like to explain that the curse is no mere legend the futility of winning the jackpot has been demonstrated by actual scientists with jobs at accredi

Post your scratch ticket results
I have had some success safe-chasing . I find an out-of-the-way store, most likely a Mom Pop but definitely someplace with not a high volume of customers. Next I look for a ticket that has been out for quite awhile yet still has some top prizes unclaimed. Typically stores will put these types of tickets lower or off to the edges of the displays cases. I will purchase however many of that one ticket that my daily gambling budget allows and take them home. If I get skunked, get a break-even or sma

Connecticut Lottery launches 5 Card Cash
KY Lottery replaced another $2 ticket game when they started their version of Five Card Cash and both games were two part games. The difference is the All or Nothing type games are based on one drawing. The 12/24 ticket prices could be lower if they used rolling jackpots too. Lotteries are looking for ways to increase revenue with new games, and that means higher ticket costs. The majority of sales are still scratch-offs, Five Card Cash is a hybrid and state lotteries are giving players

Connecticut Lottery launches 5 Card Cash
Unfortunately, they are all going to $2 a ticket on new games. I read on TLC's last commissioner's meeting that All or Nothing is struggling right now. Well, it's $2 a tic. Four draws a day. Really? The odds on that game are 1 in 2.7 million for $250,000. The only good thing is that the overall odds are pretty good, which mean you have a decent chance to win your $2 back, and you get 2 chances to win, but I think the jackpot is too low. I played that game quite a bit last month, but I'm

This might help some a little with Pick-3
You'll be right 78% of the time regardless of which 4 digits you choose. It could be 1,2,3,4 , 2,4,6,8 , 1,4,5,7 or any other 4 digit combination. But to actually be right (read WINNING) you still have to pick which ball will be one or more of those 4 digits and the other 2 or less digits. Odds still 1:1000. I've been poking around LP for some time and find to increase your probability of winning takes a combination of tracking the Odd/Even, Low/High, Hot/Cold, and Sum of digits. And th

Ohio Classic Lotto goes more than 2 years without winner
Yeah, I don't get it. What's up Ohioans? They do about $42M in sales per year for Ohio Classic Lotto, that's around $200-300k per draw. And that's HALF of what the base sales are for MM and PB starting JP in Ohio, when the OCL JP is higher and odds are better!? So Ohioans have spent more than $84M in total accumulated sales for this run, on a game with odds of 14M, and still no winner. That's insane, spending 6 times over the odds of the game and still no winner. That's like if you spen
