On average, the NY MM and PB players wager about the same amount on both games and can be used for a model. California's ticket sales for MM average about 2.7 million for the beginning $12 million jackpot. If their PB play is about the same so the PB sales should increase by about the same amount. PB had $56.5 million in ticket sales total when the last $50 million jackpot was won so the addition of California should lessen the losses when a $40 million jackpot is won or even show a small profit

I don't think it matters a whole lot if you have one or two lines in a game that has over 175 million possible lines. Picture a pile of over 175 million grains of sand and one of them (painted red) is yours. What do you think the chances are that you could pick out that red one - blindfolded? And do you think having 2 grains of sand painted red in that pile of over 175 million grains of sand would increase your chances much? That's just something to consider if the expense of another

I'd be willing to bet your typical big game jackpot player either doesn't know or care about expectation value. More people are forking over money for powerball because the prizes are bigger and the overall odds are better, simple as that. I would personally spend $10 for 5 PB lines before I would spend $10 for 10 MM lines any day. I think MM is gonna have to consider some sort of matrix change and or megaplier revamp soon if it wants to remain competitive with PB, especially with player
