I went to PA to celebrate the end of Lucky for Life
Where I live, I cover up the NY Blotto slips to get people to play Mega Millions or Powerball instead. I also loudly criticize people who play NY Blotto, choose annuity on MM (since in NY you still have to choose when you play,) and/or buy an annuity-only scratch ticket, including any of NY's four versions of LOSE for Life.

One more annuity vs cash discussion
I'm trying to find a breakdown of the PB annuity for the current $205M jackpot. How is it calculated? I think the annuity makes a lot of sense. However, I'd be receiving the higher payments in my 80s, so I like the MM payout which is 26 years and divided into equal payments. I thought it was a big mistake when FL changed from 6/49 to 6/53 and also increased the payout from 20 to 30 years.

Colorado man wins lottery second time
Cash-Did you know that the Powerball cash value is roughly just a little over 48% of the annuity. So the state lottery at 50% is giving its winners more cash then Powerball is to its winners. Mega Millions is the multi-state game that gives back to its winners over 50% of the annuity in cash value.-weshar75

Colorado man wins lottery second time
Interesting that there was no mention of what he chose either time. Colorado Lotto is one of a number of games that fixes the cash value of the annuity as a percentage of the annuity (usually 50%) instead of having it fluctuate like in Mega Millions and Powerball. Cash value winners in these games actually get cheated (MM/PB cash winners do get their fair share).

To my fellow LP members
Maybe Todd is less symphathetic towards me now as he used to be simply because (as a New Jersey resident who probably does not visit NY state often) he does not see firsthand as I do how crooked the NY Lottery is for a state that does not use computerized drawings save for Quick Draw. New Jersey Pick-6 Lotto is a very good game. It has the usual 50% payout vs NY Lotto's ridiculously low 38%-40%. When Todd plays Pick-6, he does not have to choose cash or annuity UNLESS he wins. To my fellow LP members
GA and New Jersey allow annuity choosers to change their minds. But NY and Texas do not. If you choose annuity in NY or Texas, you're SOL.

Indiana Lottery gets new director
I assume Hoosier Lotto's annuity is 30 equal payments (unlike PB's graduated annuity.) That should make the actual cash value percentage HIGHER than in Powerball.

Some people think $20 is too much for lottery ticket
I spent $30 on a Connecticut scratch last year (and won $100.) A $20 ticket is worth it if there are no annuity-only prizes, and the payout % is decent. NY's $10 and $20 scratches are annuity-only.

'Arizona 9' claims half of $94.1M Powerball lottery jackpot
I guess I was a little off on my math. When you have $47,050,000 annuity and you divide it by 9 you get roughly $5,227,778 annuity a piece for 9 winners. Or at 47.5% cash value you have a cash check of about $2,483,195 if the 9 winners take cash. Both figures are before taxes. My point is that if there had been a single winner their would have been a bigger single prize. You have a nice day now okay!!!!!!!!!!!-weshar75
