Same Lotto Numbers Come Up Sat and Sun
Then, what would be the odds of two given states, Illinois and Iowa, to have the same Midday pick-4 numbers on a given day, in the exactly same order?By the same math as in the article, the odds would be 1 in 100,000,000 (10,000 x 10,000).While looking at the prediction winners page the other day, I found that the odds of 1 in 100M were actually beaten by one of LP platinum members, Bluegrass, on Monday, December 12, 2005. Congrats to Bluegrass!(If anyone wants to see it, please click the follo

Same Lotto Numbers Come Up Sat and Sun
From the article University of Central Oklahoma mathematician Larry Lucas says that on any given day, the odds of choosing the correct three numbers in the order drawn is one in 1,000. Those who select the numbers in order get a cash prize of $500. That takes a mathematician ??? Wonder if they could find the odds in pick 4 ??? ez

Lottery number strategies subject of newspaper investigation
Writer of the article mentions Lottery Post, apparently noticing that Lottery Post is the leading lottery site in the whole worldwide web. I agree with this observation, by the way.

I agree, the author could have done a lot worse, as far as Lottery Post is concerned. I too wished for a little more coverage (including perhaps a link), but that's just the way it shakes out sometimes. Besides, given the tone of the article, maybe the amount of coverage was just right.

Lottery number strategies subject of newspaper investigation
Journalists are obligated to treat the lottery the same way they treat flying saucers and Big Foot. No reason to put your credibility on the line when you can get a good article out of it. Believe me on this. I was in the newspaper business for 29 years. Just consider the source. Orangeman

They started out the article negative, so it wasn't a surprise that it would stay that way. I doubt however, that it will change many peoples minds who play the lottery.

Newspaper takes a hard look at the N.J. Lottery
It will be interesting to watch the following two articles that will be published tomorrow and Tuesday. A little bird whispered in my ear that a certain popular lottery website may be mentioned.Hmmm...I wonder which site that will be. I bet you will get a few more people joining because of the article!

Newspaper takes a hard look at the N.J. Lottery
Quote from the Star-Ledger:There are more lottery retailers per capita in lower-income areas. Bayonne, where the average income is $58,971, has one outlet for every 750 residents...I agree with the article EXCEPT for the low income part. Wonder what they call people living on Social Security making less than $10,000 per year?Anyone with an income in the range of $50,000 should be living quite well and can afford all the lottery tickets they want!
