How often do you get a 5-hit when playing your 6/49 lottery?
If there are such players who can match 5/6 a few times in a year when playing a few bucks I'd like to hear about that, even if they don't post something to protect themselves (not everybody wants to share such a success easily), so this is why I made this poll so to be anonymous if they wish so.

Mich. lottery winner to plead guilty to felony firearm charges
This 'gentleman' is a poster-child for why the Lotteries should WANT anonymous winners. The failures, while making good copy, really show the down side of a lottery win... and make the 'winning' part look WAY not so glamorous.

Iowa Lottery releases names of 'Shipping 20' Powerball winners
An Iowa decision allowing for lottery winners to retain their anonymity may not have an immediate effect on any other state lottery, but it could be used in future court cases as precedent. It would be a piecemeal effort lasting many years -- basically, any time a winner is adamant enough about remaining anonymous that they're willing to sue their state -- but it could happen. Emphasis on could ; standard IANAL disclaimer applies.

Iowa Lottery on the verge of revealing names of 'Shipping 20' winners
Concerning the lottery in general... it's a shame people can't claim in private due to a few conspiracy nutters out there. I bet those who demand the names of winners would want to be anonymous had they won.

A trick to remain anonymous?
Before the drawing it's a chance, and there are laws against reselling it. Once the drawing is held it's a financial instrument with a fixed value and it's your property, so why wouldn't you be able to sell it?
The better questions are how much would somebody else pay for it, and how much are you willing to pay for some initial anonymity? A large corporation probably wouldn't be bothered by people looking for handouts the way an individual might be, so they might not require a huge payment to

A trick to remain anonymous?
I would want to remain anonymous. I wouldn't be purchasing a new house.. there is nothing wrong with the one I have. I wouldn't be buying new cars..

A trick to remain anonymous?
I just don't want everyone to know it.
The real trick is remaining anonymous after getting the money. Do you really believe your family and friends won't notice you quit your job, bought several new vehicles, a new house with brand new furnishings, and the obvious change in lifestyle?
If there is a leagal way to do this in illinois I would love to know it
Nobody will buy the ticket before actually checking the value and I wouldn't hand it unsigned to anybody. Some players hand their

Do you think any of your family would kill you if you won the lottery?
Do I think any of **MY** family would kill me if I won the lottery. Yes - hence my desire for anonymous winning (which is NOT available in RI - quite the conundrum)

Michigan couple killed after lottery win
Sad but sometime it's best to be hush about it when it comes to money. More reason for other states to be able to claim anonymous.
