NY Scratch-off Discussion
The $30 win a mil for life is the worst ticket of all time. I've never won more than $20 (meaning a $50 prize on the ticket), and I usually just win $5. Horrible.
I was grocery shopping the other day and had a loose $5 on me so I put it in the machine. $2 win for life, dud. $1 loose change, dud. $2 triple payout, $100 winner! Most I've ever won on a $2 ticket.
And Jada man, I know you like to treat it like a casino and always make the ol gotta take the shots to win analogy, but j

Post your scratch ticket results
This isnt a whole lot, but it made a great day even better:
When I saw the ALL symbol I was overjoyed and expected to see $1 under each number. I saw $5 and figured it was under each one, counted the top line for $20 which makes $100 total!
This is only my 2nd 100 winner ever so I am thrilled. And to think I got this on a HUNCH at an out of the way Publix.
The ticket number is 001 so i bought the next one out of the machine which was 000 and that was the last one.

Maryland liquor store owner charged in lottery scam
Gamegirl, I can appriciate what your saying about the volumes, but, when you have big wins the machines don't sound off with bells and whistles. The Maryland State lottery run promotional games frequently that will have music or horns sound off when you present a winning ticket to be cashed in. I am allowed to scan my tickets at the store where I usually play lottery. I have scanned several $1000.00 Keno tickets. Never once did a bell or whistle sound off.
When someone presents a big win, one

I missed Richard Lustig's secret?
I know his method is to pick the same number every time. But, how does he pick his number?
Does he let the machine pick his numbers the first time and then he plays those same numbers every week?
I often get numbers that do not seem random, and I always just let the cashier give me a ticket. Numbers like 4-7-9-13-55 are not very random. I'd not expect the winning ticket to have so many numbers under 15.
What's a good way to start picking the same numbers every time?

POLL - On The Whole Do The Lotteries Provide Truly Random Numbers?
If I was to sue, I would argue that Buying a ticket with a certain number of lines was buying a certain number of chances at various prizes. If the numbers that the machine chose were identical or overlapped then I would not have received as many chances for my money as I would've had they be different.
For example, imagine a pick 6 game where the lowest value subsidiary prize was awarded for a 3/6 match. The two tickets 1-2-3-4-5-6- and 1-2-3-4-5-7 would represent 30 chances at that lowest v

How are the QP numbers selected for a ticket?
How does the lotto machine at your local store formulate the numbers for a QP ticket?
Several years ago I remember seeing a story of two coworkers who went to the store together. The first guy bought his items, and did not buy his usual lottery ticket. His coworker did buy a QP ticket, he won several Million.
I've always been curious, would the numbers have been the same, the first guy in line got the ticket.
I've tried the search but couldn't find anything.
Thanks for your help

Clerk arrested in undercover Lottery sting
This story is disturbing from every angle.
While I am glad the Lottery is trying to ensure customers are not deceioved and that stores are held accountable for stealing from customers I am disturbed at this particular sting.
A speciallty designed winning ticket ? WTF is that?
If the Lottery can fake a winning ticket, let it show up on a machine as a winner, why should't I believe the whole darned thing is rigged? Wake up folks.
This needs an independent investigation.

Pick 4 in New Jersey you have to wait 3 weeks to receive your money!
I took this directly from the NJ Lottery website:
________________________________________________________________________
The holder of a winning ticket for the Pick-4 lottery can take said ticket to any agent having an agent-operated, on-line machine for validation. If said winning ticket entitles the holder to a prize of $599.50 or less, said prize will be paid by the agent upon presentation and validation of the ticket. If the winning ticket entitles the holder to a prize that is more
