Auditor rejects GOP plea to examine lottery
The state auditor rejected a request from a Senate Republican to audit the Massachusetts Lottery. Auditor Joe DeNucci says the lottery already gets reviewed by accounting firm KPMG and that he may conduct an audit of the lottery next year. Senator Richard Tisei of Wakefield made the request, arguing that lawmakers need a better sense of the lottery's fiscal health. Tisei says he's hearing contradictory messages about how much money is being taken in and how much can be raised. Money fro

Tennessee Lottery: confusion not being cleared up
I agree. It should also include transparency into the financial comparisons showing exactly how many dollars for education were going to increased or decreased by going computerized. After all, at least $90,000 dollars for education are being spent on an audit that would never have taken place if they didn't make the bonehead switch.

Tennessee Lottery oversight committee to convene in November
(from the above ) The Tennessee Lottery is paying KPMG between $80,000 and $95,000 to perform an audit, said Kym Gerlock, lottery spokeswoman. Seems a bit strange to me! I know if I had a shakey company, I would want to hire and pay the firm doing the audit. The State of Tennessee is right on top of this mess! ez

Ticket Redemption Question
It all depends on the clerk's training here in Ohio. I been in stores where the clerk staples the payout receipt to the winning tickets and put it in a box for an audit later and others have given me the ticket with PAID stamped on it while others just paid me and asked if I wanted my tickets for taxes and if not they threw it away. It must depend on how they track the money at different stores.

North Carolina 4/16 thru 4/30
Did anyone see the draw last night? It was strange. When they showed the ball drop, it looked like the number 2 was drawn on a yellow cardboard paper in the first slot and the other number were all ready in the 2nd and third slot. I think they were 5, 0. The announcer said their was a problem and the audit firm would later announce the correct numbers. This morning I see it was 030. Very strange indeed.

Lottery addict screams at judge, 'prison won't help'
She was just a common greedy thief and they should put her in jail. Maybe while she is in there, she will get some type of help. The poor doctor will definitely learn to keep his own books or at least have a seperate audit done once every three months.

Lottery Clubs
Lottery clubs are very popular considering over one-third of all lotteries are won by clubs or pools. Just make sure you keep careful records in case any members request an audit. Also, current tax records for each member should be available when you have winning tickets.
