Lottery ticket has all the numbers, but 7 seconds late
We're not on the side of the lottery, we're on the side of common sense and responsibility. The machine gave him his ticket exactly on time. The problem is that he got to the game too late. That's not the lottery's problem. If there was a 5 minute gap, he wouldn't have gotten either ticket. Not having a break as they move from one game to the next gives the last minute players a chance that they wouldn't have had otherwise. The consumer is not responsible for the delays relating to theprinti

Lottery ticket has all the numbers, but 7 seconds late
Joel Ifergan came within seven seconds of becoming a multi-millionaire, and he's ready to go to court to claim his windfall. Mr. Ifergan bought a lottery ticket one night at 8:59 p.m., but Loto-Qu bec's computers processed and printed it only after the draw's deadline at 9 p.m. It turned out to be a winning ticket but it popped out of the machine too late. Now, Mr. Ifergan is suing Quebec's behemoth lottery corporation for $13.5 million, saying that the machine's time lag cost him his shar

Location of winners
HOW COME THE ONLY JACKPOT WINNERS ARE FROM THE [EAST - WEST - NORTH - SOUTH - CITIES - RURAL AREAS]? HOW COME ONLY [WHITE, BLACK, TALL, SKINNY, YOUNG, OLD] PEOPLE WIN? Powerball is a random game that knows nothing about who buys a ticketor where the ticket was purchased. There really is nowhite/black/old/young/rich/poor, etc.] button on the machine. If onedraws a box around some group of players (eg., state border, haircolor, shoe size), then that group of players will win in proportion to

LP Community do me a favor...Your Lucky Charm numbers...
I had a dream lastnight about tonight's Mega Millions and the numbers but I couldn't remember them but I think they were some of the ones I got from a third attempt at an easy pick. The part bugging me and what probably brought on the dream is the issue of the previous two tickets that were failed printings due to their machine not having their ink tape replaced. Couldn't see anything much on them just lines and streaks, first one might have had part of the ID number but the second, nothing. Gav

An Ethical Dilemma...
I would take the entire amount. I agree, it would be impossible to trace the last person that used the machine. If you go to a clerk or anyone else, they may take it for themselves, so you would be giving it away. Strange things happen though, maybe it was meant for you to have those extra credits. Here's something that happened to me and I think my guardians Angels (or spirit guides) had a hand in it. I went to the race track, I told the cashier I wanted a $2 bet on horse number 2. And I tho

Went public too soon?
I am pretty sure that flashing that ticket in front of the camera guaranteed no one will take it away from him. That was better then making a duplicate copy on some machine. You steal that ticket and turn it in, and you are going to jail immediately. It is not like no one will know! I will turn my winning ticket in immediately. You don't get the cash for a month, so you income has gone up by zero. I have already picked out the Estate Lawyer Group that I want to handle the money, so I don't ne

New York Lottery won't pay $25,000 for taped-up scratch-off ticket
Thank you Madmaxxx for chiming in. I sincerely thought it was a rare occurance to have tickets sliced incorrectly, but it DOES happen. My ten dollar ticket proved it over the weekend. The lady that came to the dispenser machine to undo the half eaten ticket said Sure hope thats a winner because it was stuck in there and sliced up nicely! ...Reality was..it was a 20$ winner from the ten dollar ticket. And yes the cashier walked me up to the redemption counter so there wouldnt be any misunderstan

Ticket Cancellation
How do you know I didn't buy some dog or cat food and put it in the donation box at the store exit? It's really ironic that when the Veteran's are selling poppies or the Salvation Army is collecting it seems to be someone who had just purchased a lottery ticket that coughs up a buck or two for the chairities. I don't know how many times I've seen that. Most of the time that I get a ticket kicked back it's a Pick 3 or 4 for some reason. I've had times when a machine wouldn't take it but

What would you do if you won 10 Billion dollars..
With two drawings a week there are 3 and 4 days between drawings, meaning there are about 70 and 90 hours in which to buy tickets between drawings. As a practical matter there will be even less time between knowing that the jackpot has rolled over and the cutoff for buying tickets, but generating all 145 million possible combinations for PB in 90 hours would require generating 450 unique combinations every second. If each machine could print a ticket with 5 plays every second it woud take 90 ma
