What do you think about this?
Tell me what you think about this idea.
I know numbers repeat, but we're mostly talking of box (when it comes to p/3). Sometimes straights repeat, but seldom over a period of 6 month. When you go back a year, you'll see them pop-up fairly often. So what would happen if you were to play str. only, but eliminate all the numbers over the last six months that have been played?
Then when picking numbers you look at your high and low, as well as the even and odd. For instance, looking at Mo. you

Running an office Powerball pool is discouraging
Regardless of how you pick the numbers, 50 chances should do better than just one.
Winning $100 or less may be discouraging but it easy to split up and you don't have to file a W-2G with your tax returns.
Winning $200,000 or more make it worth the trouble to get a Form 5754 from the IRS and allows everyone in the pool to pay their own taxes on their share of the winnings.
It's those prizes that's over $600 but less than $1,000 per pool member once it's divided that's the headache beca

how to lose
I played Mo. p/3 midday. I used qp's and lucky's system. I had a win from both picks. I didn't play any box, but I notice that it hit several times.
I thought I would learn something about how to lose playing a hundred numbers each day, and that would help to win in the long term. I am just trying to look at it sort of upside down. I am going to play with this a bit longer, before I spend any more money again.
I was kind of thinking, that if I removed the last 6 mo's drawings, which would

Paying a jackpot over 26 years is too long of a time frame
I agree, but it's better than the graduated 30 yr payout offered by Powerball. When the Florida Lotto had a 20 year annuity, at least the payout was 5% ($50K a year for every million) but then it changed to 30 years which means you're getting even a lower rate of interest. Our 20 year game (MegaMoney) has a much higher cash payout, however - often as high was 70%. The last person who won $2M got a lump sum of $1.4M so taking the annual payments would be foolish IMO.
I think it depends on you

Lump Sum or payments?
annuity payments on say $200 million might be worth it if I had no choice, but still would never compare to the interest rates of the lump sum.
Have you ever actually compared them? The fixed payment for MM is 3.33% of the annuity value every year for 29 years. For an annuity of $100 million that's $3,333,333.33 every year. If you choose the lump sum the pre-tax payment will be about $62 million. If there's no state tax after the IRS gets their share you'll have about $40.3 million. Take $3

Florida Jackpot Plus
I'm likely a day late and always a dollar short, but today I noticed the flyer for the new Florida 6/53 Jackpot Plus offer. This feature lets you add one or two dollars to your Play or QP to increase the prize by $10 million for a dollar or $25 million for two dollars.
Frankly I don't see how this can pay for the amounts offered (what's the odds of the winner having paid the extra?), but welcome the decision in light of some other games raising the cost of a ticket to $2.00
I'd be ha

The Stench of DISGUST in PA: a Cash 5 Travesty
Well for the one or two vociferous posters the past two years who criticized the PA Cash 5 game that expires Thursday night, the one that will increase from 39 numbers to 43, where are those know-it-all posters now? And why can't they defend their verbage/rhetoric?
Where are they? Back in their offices in Harrisburg ruining yet another PA lottery, while viewing LP posts scheming to con some others (here elsewhere).
Why can't they defend themselves? I'll tell you why: because everything th

Winner of New York's biggest lottery jackpot sold himself the ticket
are you kidding me? You want them to not allow employees who sell the lottery tickets to be eligible to win?
If you think it is such an unfair advantage, why don't you get a job as a clerk selling the lottery tickets? I'm sure you will change your mind about all of that real soon. I worked in a store once as a clerk-no, not selling lottery tickets. What makes you so certain they have time to notice such things? And even if they do, that is no guarantee they are going to get all the win

Anybody Ever Win?
If anyone ever came up with a system that breat a game, the game would simply no longer be offered to play.
You assume beating the system is winning every time but even winning every time is unlikely to destroy a state lottery game because only 50% of its sales are used to pay the winners. Beating the game to me is winning more than you spend on tickets and every time someone wins or share a jackpot, even once in a life time, they had done that and the game continue to exits.
