Employee hacks into online poker site
This is extremely different than using RNG's for the lottery, so I don't see it as offering any more reason than any other example of somebody doing whatever the system allows them to do to try and cheat.
OTOH, it is an extremely good lesson on the possibility for fraud in many forms of online gambling. It sounds like this guy was only trying to make his point, and therefore he was very blatant in what he did. Somebody who only wanted to make money by having an unfair advantage could potenti

Gail Howards free tips
I know most of her highly-touted winners won back in the 80's and early 90's.
Please note I said 'most', not 'all'......
I should write a book on the subject, as hers 'seems to' be the only ones out there.
There are all kinds of things a person can do to increase their odds overall, but I am NOT convinced ANY method will help you pick all - or even half - of the Powerball numbers, THAT will take some educated guessing - and a lot of luck.
Heck, I don't think ANY system will help you

Why they call it Scientific Games?
Yes, that is right, but even more, I think that there is everything scientific about lottery games, not just about the structure or make-up of the games and their odds either way, but also about the players increasing their odds of winning.
I didn't say About Winning , but About increasing to some degree the odds of winning .
I don't say that it is possible to win on all games and or all all the time on some or a few, but it should be possible for people to increase their odds of winning

Mass. Gov. promises to protect lottery revenue
Seeking to nullify a major complaint about expanded gaming, Massachusetts Governor Deval L. Patrick is pledging to protect state Lottery revenues from being ravaged by casinos.
As part of his proposal to establish three casino resorts, including one in Western Massachusetts, Patrick said he will hold harmless the state Lottery, a major source of state aid to cities and towns.
The governor said he would cover any loss in lottery revenues with money from a proposed annual 27 percent tax

You Hit The Lottery - Spouse plans to work Full Time Still
Personally, I'm puzzled by most people who have jobs when they don't need the money, but your question misses the point. Almost all of us could have more money by making some sort of sacrifice, whether it's cutting back on our spending, working more, or taking a different job that we don't like as much as (or dislike more than) our current jobs. The few bucks most people spend on the lottery is a trivial sacrifice, even compared to the slim chance that it will return a substantial amount of mon

Florida Gov. suggests selling the lottery
Eeek!! Florida has already lost most of its wildlife. If Alligator Alley is not protected there will be very little undeveloped land left in South Florida. The toll is already $5 to go back forth to Miami or Fort Lauderdale. That's not including the gas and the tolls on the FL Turnpike.
Often privatization means better money management, but at what cost to the public? I actually believed that privatizing medicare was a good thing, because the premiums were so cheap (often zero) and we

A dollar and a dream true for PB and MM?
There was no magic bullet in the JFK assasination and there's no magic dollar in lotto.
Coin Toss, didn't you see the X-Files episode that explained the whole JFK assassination?
Seriously, I think this discussion could go on forever. I was going to quote Jarasan's post on the first page since I think he explains it very well as do you. It really doesn't matter what people say the numbers are and if 1 in 29M is the same as 5 in 146M, etc. Buying 5 tickets does little to incr

Lotto fever isn't what it used to be
MM and PB prizes remind me of the experiment with rats. Each rat has a lever to push for food in the cage.
In the experiment, some rats received a food pellet every time they pushed the lever. Others got the treat randomly, say on average every four or five pushes. Still others got no food by pushing the lever. Then the researchers stopped giving out any pellets. The rats who never received food had already stopped pushing, the rats who always got a pellet stopped pressing the lever very

Powerball & Megamillions Growing
Well of course they're from two different runs. If they were from the same run nobody would have won the 340 and it wouldn't have been a record. I'll try this one more time, but I'm really not optimistic at this point.
1. What was the record before it was 340? Here's a hint: that record is related to somebody who's infamous around here.
2. What was the increase from that record to the $340 million record?
3. What was the payout for 5+0 winners with the $365 million jackpot?

Can someone help me out with my math?
That's the formula for the future value of a series of payments, and calculates the total of the payments and the interest earned during the investment period. If you planned to invest each payment from the annuity at a fixed rate of interest that formula would tell you how much you would have accumulated after any given number of payments, if you hadn't withdrawn anything during that period.
By taking the annuity instead of cash you're essentially loaning the principal and collecting mortg
