Record Powerball lottery won by one Nebraskan
Actually you would have a whole lot less - gift taxes are up around 40-50%, so for every two million you gave away, or house you bought, or relative you supplemented, you would owe 50% in taxes. Plus they would have to pay the 48% in taxes for the increase in income. Give away $120 million, and uncle is going to get another $100 million from you and your friends; then the sate tax collectors step in. I am not talking exactness here, there are variables all over the place, but the concept is va

Lottery Post reveals N.C. Lottery logo misfire
I'm wondering if the small purple things might be more recognizable as something in a better reproduction. I guess that if you decide you want something that looks like fireworks you can pick almost anything and when you look at it you'll see your fireworks. If they had used something that looked like fireworks to people who didn't already know if was supposed to be fireworks they'd have had a perfectly good, if not great, logo. I'll at least give them credit for trying to design it in-house ins

At what point (matrix) would you not play
Powerball odds of 1:146.1 million Megamillions odds of 1:175.5 million I like the idea of having an automatic $1 million winner if 5/5 white balls are hit. Forget the Powerplay option, and try to make a lot of millionaires. That is an amount that is worth shooting for, plus the odds of hitting 5/5 white balls is about 1: 3 million. Not too bad. They could even raise the number of white balls to increase the odds of hitting 5/5 white balls (on Powerball). Plus, this way the money is

Calif. lottery sales up 7 percent
Lottery sales are up 7 percent halfway through the fiscal year, the California Lottery reported over the weekend, representing an increase of $119 million. Lottery sales totaled $1.75 billion in the first two quarters, up from $1.53 billion in the same period a year ago. The lottery is coming off a record year that recorded sales of $3.33 billion. The state lottery commission credited the Mega Millions game and Scratchers with bingo and crossword themes for increasing interest. Offic

mega millions or powerball
Quote: Originally posted by LOTTOMIKE on February 5, 2006Quote: Originally posted by Down on February 5, 2006Mega Millions is better because it has less states than Powerball    how does that make it better??? Mega Millions may have less states, but its twelve states have a combined population of over 156 million (according to census.gov's 2005 figures). Powerball's 28 states, the Virgin Islands (population 108,000), and Washington, D.C. have a combined population of just over 96 million.

Lottery Post member turns up the heat on the Hoosier Lottery
Winning scratch off according to whose record for sales? Gtech records that the State is given. Enron gave impressive information, Arthur Anderson gave accounting information, and the law Firm Vinson and Elkins gave information. Was the information truthful. Aruthur Anderson is out of business. You nor I can prove what the acutal sales of one vendor over another really is. Giving some retailers the big tier scratch offs because we are told they sell more tickets is another make believe st

I need an opinion....
If you can't afford $40, then, don't play my numbers. :)Or, play them for $.25 a peice online. I'm interested in what works. If it takes 40 numbers to get a definate hit in a few days, then, you dam right I am going to play them untill I get a hit! :) And, with payouts like 150 to 1, spending $40, to win $150, doesn't seem like a bad idea....especially if you know you'll definately get a hit in a few draws. I don't deal in chance bro. :) And no where did I say anything about doubling up.

probability of euromillions rollover
Euro Millions rolled to 70M for this Friday, 1/13, drawing. The determined jackpot for the last drawing was 61.8M ( 89.8M/$109M), and the actual total European ticket sales were 111M, being slightly lower than for the last year s drawing with similar jackpot size. Based on the increase in jackpot amount, I figure out that EM estimates total sales for this drawing to be similar to that for the last drawing, that is, 111M+.During the last year s record run, 7/22 drawing had 68M jackpot and ti
