N.C. Powerball lottery sales begin, with difficulty
Computer glitches and printer problems hit 20% of vendors North Carolinians played Powerball to the tune of more than $1 million during the first day of sales Tuesday, despite computer glitches and printer problems that plagued nearly 20 percent of the state's lottery retailers. Many ticket buyers and sellers in the Charlotte area were upbeat, even though some stores could not sell tickets for the multi-state lottery game for several hours. The new game paid off in sales for Victor Madh

CT Lottery security chief on paid leave following review of botched raffle draw
The Connecticut Lottery Corp. has placed its $139,000-a-year year security director, Alfred DuPuis, on a paid leave pending possible disciplinary action after an internal investigation concluded that he acted with gross neglect... of his duties leading up to a million-dollar blunder in a Jan. 1 drawing. (See Connecticut Lottery forced to redraw special New Year's raffle after 'human error', Lottery Post, Jan. 2, 2018.) Interim lottery CEO Chelsea Turner imposed the leave Thursday. That was

FBI missed rigged jackpot in 2006 before lottery scheme grew
Investigators were suspicious in 2006 when they heard that a rural Texas judge was trying to exchange $450,000 in consecutively marked bills. But Tommy Tipton, a Fayette County magistrate, told the FBI that his actions were innocent, if odd: He won the Colorado lottery but couldn't tell his wife because gambling was against their Christian faith. The FBI accepted the story and dropped its inquiry of Tipton, who soon bought a new truck and more property around the town of Flatonia, 110 miles (

I purchased a full roll of $3 Million Extreme Green today. Been doing fairly well with these tickets recently. I wasn't planning on the purchase but visited the local Lukoil and bought one from the machine. It was ticket 000... I had a nice run at the casino last week so I figured let's give it one try. The clerk opened the machine and sold me the remaining book for $870. Here is the break down 1 $100 money bag bonus 2 $100 (2x $50) 2 $50 (extreme) 2 $50 match 1 $

Are Scratchers infinitely harder to win?
That's about all a person can really do ... check the odds and hope for luck. In my area there is an older guy who I see quite often at the self serve lottery machines ... he covers them all at various locations and he spends big bucks on the $20 tickets. I have talked a few times with him ... he stands at the machine scraping, cashing and buying more tickets ... anything with taxes to pay on he sticks in his back left pocket. After seeing him around at different locations over the last 1 1/2

Congrats on the 5K! What a sweet hit, I'd love to find that. I decided to play a little bit more yesterday. Was going to go back to sheetz where I bought the first two losing frankenbucks the other day but some people were taking for ever at the machine so I went next door to the beer store. Bought 3 frankenbucks from the machine (34 - 36) one at a time and all 3 were losers. Saw a bunch of aces high in the garbage can so I bought one of those from the machine and it was a

The Lottery Machine Ate My Ten
LottoMetro..I think that's the worst part of it, the fact that the guy got a free $10 and could be a big fat winner. I found a $20 credit left in the machine that I walked up to and there was no one in sight. Do you think I would just leave it there for the next guy or tell the clerks at the desk...nooooo, I used it. Is THAT stealing when no one is around? Oh and by the way, all I won was $20 back on that 'found' money. I saw $20 laying on the floor at Giant one day...no one around a

Winning lottery ticket pits Pa. brothers against each other
Sometimes, a stack of lottery cash is thicker than blood. And two Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, brothers learned that the hard way. A winning lottery ticket has pitted Ira Sharp, and his half-brother, Charles Thomas Meehan, against each other in Cumberland County Court, fracturing a close familial kinship that may never exist again. Drinking luck The saga began at Johnny Joe's Sports Bar Grill in Hampden Township in late May, when Sharp and Meehan were knocking back a few drinks, and

How many scratch tickets do you buy at the store?
I voted 4 - 10. It depends how much money I have on me..of course the ATM is so nicely located RIGHT BESIDE the IVM but I don't like to do that because if I don't win off the first, I don't like playing the next. I do like to buy 1 each of the $20's and usually that's 4 in the machine if they are all stocked. I won't touch any if they 'doubled up' which more and more places are doing. (same ticket in different slots...STUPID) If I'm not feeling the $20's I'll go for the $10's o
