You just won a huge lottery jackpot! Now what?
There are ways to get around paying some of the taxes, for example giving it all to charity, or putting all or most of it into a charitable trust. You made a joke about The Donald's tax accountant, but he's a real estate guy, and real estate is extremely tax friendly. Most (or Much) of the rental income is tax-free because of depreciation. There are also a multitude of clever ways to structure leverage. For example, you can buy an apartment building, improve it (raise the rents), then turn aroun

North Carolina: 10/1 - 10/31/2018
I was in your same shoes EZ in E. CLT yesterday EZ. My power went out and I knew something was coming, heard the roar and then had a 60mph wind gust. All of it last for 2hrs and I thought all of my 50+ ft trees on 3 acres were going to come down at once. Luckily, I only lost a couple and the house is intact, but still no power. We were all lucky compared to those in FL.....man, my heart goes out to them! It is NEVER a good idea to try and outrun a storm in your car as someone in N. CLT was

Florida Fantasy 5
Sam, you are correct. I think that more Floridians like the instant gratification of the scratch-offs and Florida offers some of the best odds on scratch-off prizes in the country. In truth, most people have figured out that you can buy $100 in PB or MM tickets and likely end up with $4-$10 back. However, buying $100 in scratch-offs usually yields you $40-$60 unless you get very lucky or unlucky. And top prizes in the $10-$20 scratch-offs range from $2M to $5M which is still life-changing for mo

The problem with systems
The problem with systems is that they are worthless. Each drawing is an independent random event, consisting of drawing some ping pong balls at random from a hopper. The only thing you can do with a game is calculate the expected value. This is the amount you will win, on average. Past drawings have no effect on future results. The sooner you realize that, the more time you will save trying to predict the unpredictable.

RIP Richard Lustig
One thing I've noticed throughout the years is that when there's a reporting on some incident event or whatever, they never site the reasons behind it. If they don't know what it is, I'm confused though. The point of the story is that I'm at a loss as to why you don't mention the cause of death. This guy one a lot of money in the lottery, yet the only elusive section how he tired. Certainly he wasn't in the situation where he couldn't afford great health care, or in the position for any probl

California Lottery cancels sales meeting in aftermath of rowdy party photos
This is what l call classic This WB wants to make a name for themselves. Check this out: Lets for argument sake say you are the Whistle-blower. You invited to the party, you attend, but do not like what you see, so instead of leaving- you decide to take pictures and send them off to the higher-ups, hoping something can be done about a party that is now history. When no word gets back to you after a year, what do you do? Well, let me send another batch, to remind them that even after all this

Is it just me or...
I understand and have rejected the mathematical approach. Huh? You don't believe in math at all, or am I misinterpreting your statement? The fact of the matter is that evenly weighted, unbiased, ping pong balls have no memory. They don't choose to be picked or not be picked. They are totally random, independent events. The lottery could do a thousand pre-tests and it still means nothing (other than a big waste of time on their part). I understand why they do this (the PA weighted

Is it just me or...
However, I would like to offer a viewpoint that hasn't captured much attention when it comes to pretests. Lottery drawings are independent events. That is, the results from one drawing has no effect/affect on the next or future drawings. If this is true, and I believe it is, then why should we be concerned about the pretests, which are individual and separate drawings. If you subscribe to above text, then explain your contention with the anti-history crowd? Your text clearly states all
