It will take sales of about another 700 million tickets to get there. NMD The s/c with the steps seems to do far better than the steps alone. Last night we hit the first 3 digits in my 5-39 game. The way I play is to set the first 4 for 100 lines total and 90+ percent of the time all 100 lines will win a prize provided my selections are correct. Right now the cash/annuity ratio is very close to .61 for both PB and MM, which means a cash value of $1 billion would require an advertised jackpot of about 1.63 billion. That's unlikely, but it's certainly possible. I've already explained on page 1 how big the jackpot would be if the sales for the MM record were applied to PB's prize pool - the cash value of $474 million would have been about twice as much, at about $950 million, which would have meant an advertised value of about $1.3 billion

Replying to my own post ;-) Just occurred to me... Counter intuitive in nature... If either MM or PB hits $1 billion twice and sales slump the second draw, then people really are realizing the futility. WHAT? I spent $100+ on quick picks and made $4 in return? Forget this! Increasing the odds is a knee-jerk, quick-fix so prevalent in today's world. States want their promised money. Lotteries have no idea what to do to increase sales. The largest single draw jump for MM was by $293 million to reach $656 million, both on March 30, 2012 under the old matrix. This just eclipsed the largest single draw jump of $262.5 million by PB on Nov 28, 2012. This PB jump did not coincide with the largest PB jackpot on May 18, 2013.
