You probably don't spend enough on lottery tickets to use his advice. 1) Save losing tickets to use when filing taxes If you win a $10,000 prize or more your losing lottery tickets may help push your loses to more than the standard deduction of ~$7,000 which you get normally. 2) Don't buy quick picks If you're buying 25 or more tickets per drawing, then you want to avoid duplications of 4 numbers combinations to increase your coverage and you can't guarantee that buying QPs. 3) Wh

New games, FL and other states
We can only hope that Jackpots are not destroyed or removed from shelves and put back in warehouse status. However, at one location, I overheard the clerk and Lottery official, they were discussing which game to remove to make room and mentioned let's take the one that has the fewest on the roll So there may not be any co-ordination as to leaving a Jackpot on the rack. Now since there are so few Jackpots it is possible that information is disseminated out pertaining to those 1 or 2 rolls at

If you had 10 bucks to bet...
That's one way to figure it out as a simple exercise in logic. If you play all 1000 possibilities you've got a 100% chance of winning. If you play 1 possibility 1000 times your chance of losing is .999 raised to the 1000th power, which is .3677, or 36.774%. meaning your chnce of winning is only 63.23%. Here's another way to think about it without doing the math. It's obvious that playing a single ticket in multiple games gives you a chance of winning multiple times. There's no such thing as a

Trying to find an old lottery system
One of the simplest systems for 12 numbers in a pick 6 lottery consists of selecting the 12 numbers by any method you choose (birthday numbers, statistical lottery charts, etc.) and then grouping the 12 numbers into 4 groups of 3 numbers each. You then play each of the 3 number groups with each other which will result in 6 combinations to play. If you are lucky enough to guess all 6 of the numbers drawn by the lottery within your 12 numbers, you have a chance to win at least 3 four out of 6 priz

Post your scratch ticket results
Currently, I'm just building up a collection of $10 and $20 scratchers which I can, one day, sit down and let things happen as they may. So far, I have (12) which haven't even been looked at since I purchased them over a week ago. They're just tucked away in a locked case for future entertainment. There's actually a very inspiring story behind the last batch I purchased. After work I went to the corner store on a mission for tickets. When I got there, I told the clerk which ones I wanted and

Jut found this site and love it.
Welcome cwcwpa, You must be in the right spot, getting some wins, you know what they say, it's location location location. In Florida, there is not a set payback in a roll of tickets, but it's different for each state. We have seen a 600.00 roll pay only 200.00. The big winner could be about anywhere, I believe the thing to remember is that there are millions of tickets, hundreds of thousands of rolls and only single digit or 10's of big winners. You truly have to be very very lucky, even

$244 MILLION: Mega Millions lottery frenzy ramps up
You can't use average increase per draw to get an accurate comparison. That would unfairly weight this year/end of last year, when there was the near-record jackpot. If you eliminate that run-up (which is appropriate to achieve a good, valid comparison), then you will find the jackpots are growing roughly the same as before. I don't think anyone (including the state lotteries) knew exactly what would happen after the cross-selling agreement went into effect. It is important when evaluating th
