What hit rate percentage does your system have?
It all depends on the number of lines played and the game played. Most pick5 games are designed to give up a winning ticket (matching 2of5) every 10 lines or so which usually pays $1 or a free ticket, so a 10% hit percentage is within the normal odds of winning something regardless of how the combinations are picked.
For system players, any system that's within his budget that improves his overall odds of winning is worth trying. Such system may exist but no one is coming forward and proving

Anybody Ever Win?
Not yet - but I'm trying!
I play the pick-5 game in FL, but since I play Lotto too, I've often skipped a few days to save money. Sometimes I buy QPs and sometimes I play a combination I've picked. Had I played my numbers in March, I would have won about $100 getting 4 numbers, but the most I won in 2007 was $11 getting 3 numbers. I also got a few Free Ticket wins (2/5) It's easy to say if I had only.... but some nights I thought about changing my numbers by +1/-1 or +2/-2 and would have

would MUSL eventually computerize powerball like they did hot lotto?
MUSL's director has made positive statements about computerized drawings in the past. I think he would like to switch to computerized drawings, but I'm not sure if he will get his wish.
Changing Powerball to computerized drawings would be devastating, not just for the game, but for the industry. Powerball is a standard-bearer for lottery games, and if Powerball switched, many states would surely convert.
It would also create a situation where real drawings would not be available for any

Someone explain...
I think you missed the point of the example. The game with a $100. top prize was twice as hard to win the $100. as the game with $100. as its third prize. 1 in 8,000 is much worse then 1 in 4,000 no math involved and besides that, the player has a abet tiny shot at two larger prizes at no additional cost to play. With the choice being one of the two games it is very clear which is the better bet. The lottery has no obligation to structure every scratch off game the same changing only the pri

Lucky For Life
Greg, since you liked Lucky for Life so much (I actually respect your opinion, I just didn't respect the game), you could have worked harder to keep the game going. Like pushing for a cash option, which would have meant higher sales (without changing the lifetime prize, only making it an option), which in turn might have meant you might still be playing Lucky for Life.
Lucky for Life, if it weren't for the lack of a cash option, would have been better than Mix Match. However, I think the i

PA Cash 5 - Matrix Too Small?
It can be argued that Pennsylvania Cash 5 should add a few numbers since Jersey Cash 5 currently has one more number (40) and that New Jersey has a smaller population.
However, Pennsylvania should go back to offering a classic lotto (annuity jackpot with cash option) game. I would LOVE to see Pennsylvania join Hot Lotto, with HL changing its double matrix. I seem to think Pennsylvania considers itself too big for HL. If that's the case, how about Pennsylvania bringing back Super 7, which

Rhode Island-the next Hot Lotto state?
Rhode Island canned its Hot Trax keno-like game last month. The website says look for a new game in the near future. If RI gets HL in November, when the game will further expand, it will be the closest HL state to me. It also would be a cash alternative (HL is annuitized with a cash option) to MA Megabucks, which has always been annuity-only.
Regardless of what the next HL state is, MUSL seriously needs to think about changing the matrix to make HL jackpots bigger, to win even more states.

Something I hope we never see
If Megamillions can't even fix the first prize you don't have to worry about any changes to the second prize. Even if it were doubled and then an annuity I just can't see it happeneing with the current game. I also can't see them changing the current game to generate higher jackpots either. So like it or hate it we are stuck with MegaBS.
I'd say the only way an annuity would enter the second place winner would be a Euromillions style game where you have to pick 2 secondary numbers plus 5 whit

Ga 289x (Mostly evening)
If one had played 289x (0 thru 9) every day for $5 per game since 5-1-06, you would be more then $400 ahead today (over $800 if played $10 per game). Note, this method plays BOX form ONLY.
Now, you may want to watch the games again, because the hot three is changing.
Good Luck

GA-KY-VA Lose for Life
LOTTOMIKE:I agree. I like Lotto South. I'd be happy with Lotto Georgia or Lotto South, because both have nice size jackpots (both start at $2 million).DoubleDown:You're absolutely right, DD, this new game certainly is gimmicky. And it has to be, because the state lotteries are trying to fool lottery players into playing this game. The cash option for this game, $520,000, is an absolute joke, and the state lotteries know it. The average cash value of a Lotto South jackpot is $4 to $5 million.
