Tennessee Lottery threatens to go computerized
Kind of just curious. When I hear people say let them know you will not stand for this... in regards to what govt entities plan to do...well I guess I'm jaded. Probably been in the realworld too many years. Found out the realworld is nothing like the teachers in school say it is.... Other than sending a protest in writing/email etc...what exactly do you think can be done? They have the power to do what they want. Just like Wisconsin did ; went to RNG. They look around and see that it

a rumor...don imus to join a state lottery for work
I think IMUS is old, ugly, and a petrified Saltine. Now, if only AS JJ would protest in front of my home office, I would feel the pressure of justice upon myself, and I could fire myself. I would then believe that the Reverends. (don't make me gag) care one bit about what the IMUS said. This whole episode is so self serving to all, (media the most) it just makes me want to 2X gag. For petes sake, I thought we were beyond this, who cares what anybody says, especially Imus, Al, and Jesse!

A Lottery Post Seminar Weekend?
Coin Toss, don't forget to add: Outside there was a violent protest. On one side of the street mounted policemen had to control the mob with picket signs reading ANNUAL PAYMENTS - TAKE THE ANNUITY On the other side, trying to get through the crowded street and the blockades were people loudly chanting clapping CASH, CASH, CASH, CASH

Legal question?
I don't understand the people who think trying to legally avoid paying taxes has anything to do with immorality. Corporations are the biggest offenders and often try everything available to save money on taxes. I am a very ethical person. I've never stolen as much as a candy bar. However, I pay my taxes because I have to and it's the law, not because I want to and I don't think that's a blemish on my moral character. But why can't I decide where my money is spent? I don't think the common taxp

S.C. may ban illegal aliens from claiming lottery prizes
I have a positive idea on how we can protest the illegal alien issue on a grassroots level. The Hispanics are calling for a boycott of stores on May 1st and not going to work. I suggest that anyone against this demonstration go to the stores and BUY something on May 1st. At the checkout counter, tell the clerk that you are a customer who doesn't support the Hispanic action. The same day, go to your boss, shake his hand and thank him for the opportunity he has given you to work there. That s

gas prices and the lottery--a poll
Quote: Originally posted by LOTTOMIKE on April 20, 2006maybe if we protest high gas prices they would back down a bit..... China's skyrocketing economy which is using an unprecedented amount of crude, plus the fact refineries have had to stop production in order to implement government mandated blends for summer are two of the factors which are driving gas prices up now. Any protests will not eliminate those two factors of supply and demand which dictate our price at the pump.

N.C. Lottery prohibits illegal aliens from collecting big prizes
I'm friendly with my Mexican neighbors who work hard and have close family ties. I think they are all here legally, but as long as they take care of their own business, I mind mine. My main complaint is that many people here don't speak any English. Often ads for employment state prefer bilingual which is frustrating. I also find it offensive that foreign flags were waved on Monday while our troops were dying in Iraq. Some people in defense have compared it to the Irish flag being displayed o

Lucky For Life
If I lived closer to the Pa line I would buy one ticket for every draw no matter what. I'd probably play the same numbers every day unless they drew the same or similar numbers in the last draw. Here's how I look at it. I used to hit the soda machines every day buying as many as 5 sodas a day. I stopped drinking so many sodas now I buy lottery tickets with that money.I think of the lottery as an investment even though I might never reap the big return, I know my money is going to some cause. Delaware legislation eliminates computerized lottery drawings
Is this an article from a Delaware paper. I must have missed it. Delaware news...what there is of it... has stopped following this cuz all of the legislators are covering their backsides because of the raises they voted for for themselves. All the Dems voted for the raise and all the Reps waited till 10 minutes after the final session and stormed in to protest the bill. Everybody is mad at the Dems for voting Minner a $50 thousand raise and a nice raise for themselves. Everybody is mad at the Re
