What're The Chances They'll Pay?
Very very long shot that my ticket is a winner, but the drawing's not till tomorrow so I'll spend the next day and a half wondering if they'll pay.
I went to the vending machine and got a WildCard. It didn't spit it out, so someone came, opened it up, and pulled it out. The machine had run out of paper. Unfortunately, it ran out before it printed the bar code on my ticket. So we went to the CS counter and he got me a new ticket, with the same numbers.
What I'm thinking, is that even tho th

Have self-serve lottery machines, but can't pay out any tickets? (Rite-Aid in Ohio)
No, there are not instructions posted on the machine.
When you scan a winning ticket, a message pops up on the screen that says Congratulations! $X winner. To receive credit in this machine, scan ticket again. To receive cash, present ticket to clerk.

Winning Lotto ticket survives washing machine
A four-week-old Lotto ticket survived a trip through the washing machine to net $250,000 for its Christchurch, New Zealand, owner.
The ticket bought at Pak'n'Save in Moorhouse for the July 9 Lotto draw shared the First Division prize with tickets bought in Auckland, Waitakere and Hastings.
The winner, who wants to stay anonymous, said he found the ticket last weekend after he washed an old pair of jeans.
I went through the wet pockets and realised I had washed a Lotto ticket in the jea

Lottery machines cut tickets at the wrong place
I've seen it a few times, but not that bad, only like 1/8 off, so I let it go. Wondered how much it would take for the lotto to declare a ticket void?
These machines do not seem to be high precision instruments, or at least not well maintained. Or could just be clerk loading sloppiness, the same clerks who sometimes load the ticket roll backwards starting with high ticket numbers instead of 000.
One time I dropped $20 in a machine and it would not give me the last $5 ticket, or any other t

Indiana man says store cost him $11.5M lottery jackpot
Heres something I always wondered about: Why does the lottery machineneed to be online and communicating with the mothership machine inorder to simply print out your 6 numbers ?
Because the 6 numbers printed on the ticket aren't what determines whether or not it's a winning ticket. That's determined by an entry that the mothership machine makes in the database, identifying the ticket by its own unique identity, including the time and place of purchase in addition to the 6 numbers.

PA Lottery Pay Day Ticket. Has anyone else had this happen?
Here's the deal. At work today, I bought a Pay Day ticket from the vending machine. Absolutely none of the surface had been scratched off. I scratched it, and it was a $10 winner. I went to cash it in at the end of my day, and the machine said it had already been cashed. I went to a convevnience store and got the same message. I'm waiting to hear from the lottery on this, since it may have happenend to someone else.

Not all Retailers Pay Out to $599
the machine does not give change so instead it will print you a voucher which is similar to a lottery ticket with the bar code at the bottom and an amount printed on it...you can then take that voucher and try to cash it somewhere else (same as a winning ticket)...I seriously doubt that they will make a machine that gives out cash...there are security issues associated with that and also technology issues which translates into costs for them...also if you are cashing a big amount (say $400) try

Retailers luckier than expected, Atlantic Lotto says
Here in Oregon if you take a big win lottery ticket (anything over $600 I think - under $600 can be paid out by anystore that sells lottery tickets) to a store other than the one where you purchased it, the verification machine does not recognize it as a winner - though it does not come back with the sorry not a winner notification. Apparently the clerks are under no obligation to tell the owner of the ticket that they need to take their ticket to the store where purchased for validation. I've

Lottery Dream
I dreamed that my brother Bruce and I had played the lottery and I looked at my ticket and I knew I did not win. What is strange is that there was a lottery machine where you could insert the ticket yourself to check it. I asked my brother to give me his ticket while he went elsewhere in the store. The ticket had I believe 5 lines of numbers. I inserted his ticket , not thinking it was a winner and out came 1,000 cash ( The machine was similar to an ATM). There was a winner in varying amounts o
