If you win the jackpot, do you go to tv and news?
Down here in Florida, we're not allowed to remain anonymous. The Florida law mandates that the lottery provides the winner(s) name(s), city/cities of residence, and the game won. I wonder if a trust can claim the ticket...but why am I even bothering to count my eggs before they've hatched?

Top Ten Lottery Tragedies
As others pointed out, it's not hard to figure out, so you can't be amazed and also be very bright. Also as others pointed out, most of the problems winners have are their own fault. When you're your own worst enemy anoymity can't save you from yourself. OTOH, if you're a bit intelligent, not being anonymous isn't a hardship.

Top Ten Lottery Tragedies
It amazes you how people don't travel to other states to play the lottery in anonymous states? Really? Very few states allow anonymity. Do you really expect someone to travel from one state to another just for lottery tickets? Maybe you are made of money and can take off work and travel across the country to do that, but most of us can't. It amazes me, that people think that everyone can do this.

Would you wear a disguise to your press conference?
Because most states don't allow the option to be anonymous and we still would like to play the lottery. Moving or traveling to a state that allows anonymity, just to play the lottery, is not an option for most people.

If you sign your ticket
If you sign your lottery ticket when you buy it, and it turns out to be a winner, is it too late to have a trust claim the ticket? I don't sign my tickets because, if im lucky enough to win one day i would want to be anonymous. Anyone else have this dilemma?

True love: lottery winner reveals secret only after engagement
I bet Joe is very happy that the UK lottery gives winners the option of remaining anonymous. Although, I don't understand why he then went crazy with a story in the Daily Mail?

The Mega Millions is Fixed
They may have gone out of business once American lotteries changed their rules to make it harder for one group to control enough terminals to enter all the possible combinations. If they did find a work around and is still active then they would probably keep a low profile and collect their larger prizes using a trust or some other way to legally remain anonymous.

Those who suffered the "curse" of the lottery:
Back in 1960, a NSW lottery players won $100,000, worth million today, soon after his Eight-year-old son was kidnapped and a ransom of $25,000 was demanded. The money was paid, but the child was killed. As a result lottery procedures in Australia were changed after the Thorne case, with all lottery winners being given the option of remaining anonymous when collecting their winnings. Very few have opted for publicity.

Elderly $144M Powerball lottery winner shows right way to claim jackpot
Here in Australia lottery winners have an automatic right to anonymity. Lotteries can not identify them without their permission. Most choose to, quite sensibly, remain anonymous.

What does it mean when companies make it public during the press conference?
I was looking at the Indiana Lottery site and it says that since NOvember, one person won and GMTR Investments picked up the check. Another winner was SWS investments who picked up the check. Were they the winner or do you think someone paid them to publicize themselves so the actual winner can remain anonymous?
