SC officials getting nervous that $1.5 billion Mega Millions winner won't claim prize
There.Is.No.Phone.Route
There is only ONE way to verify a winning ticket. I keep telling you this and you've overlooked this detail like 4 times now.
Let's backtrack here.....
What you are wanting is for the winner to call the lottery office (to verify said ticket) so people can stop worrying about the ticket but in hindsight the only way to verify the ticket is to have it read through the machine in the lottery office. Not a copy of the ticket......not a picture...the actual physical

California man learns $10 million reason not to tell your roommate if you win the lottery
You only have to be ignorant of the safeguards for lottery tickets to think that stealing the machine might potentially get you 100k or more, although just strolling in and taking it was pretty brazen and not a great way to avoid being caught.
OTOH, I'm pretty sure that stealing your roommate's ticket, especially when you think it's only worth 10k requires genuine stupidity. Did he really think he could just cash it in and the cops would never come knocking? Or did he think that he could coll

Post your scratch ticket results
Can you cash a $500 prize at a self-serve vending machine? Here in Illinois, the max you can claim is 20$, even thou they sell 30$ tickets, you can't cash one in.
They have new machines waiting to be installed in all the stores I've seen. but they haven't yet. Maybe they can handle a larger payout.
As for the thief, they might work at a vendor location or know a person that works there. Here, most places tear up the winning tickets and pitch them, so ne need for the original tick

Homeless man dives into dumpster to retrieve lottery ticket worth $4.82M
WOW.....Can't we all just be happy he won? Why so critical of the article? Who here hasn't accidentally thrown something away and then wonder where the heck you put it? Also, my best friend has been playing the same powerball numbers for over 14 years - he still has yet to memorize the numbers or adequately keep up with them. He's older and just relies on that slip. When the lottery here (in SC) changed companies and switched out slips he didn't even know how to fill out the new slip when his di

The undoubted correlation of stanky breeches an the lottery
We pick our own numbers and/or we let the machine pick them. I have been finding myself pick the numbers an let the machine pick the rest on the same line.
Like in a pick 6 type lotto I ill pick 2 numbers an have the machine pick 4 or 3 an 3 etc. I have or it seems would get better number results for the ticket an even seem to hit smaller prizes a but more often. Anyone else do the both qp an selfpick for a line. I mean ...sometimes I will just pick one number an have the rest as qp. I'm not

You just won a huge lottery jackpot! Now what?
I don't know what would slow it down like that, could be that the sales traffic slowed it down, I guess. I always figured the machine picked the numbers and sent them in to the mother ship after the fact, but it could be that the mother ship has to approve or confirm the set of numbers before the ticket can be printed.
Anymore I always just play QPs. Also, the numbers drawn lately have been really ugly. I cannot imagine anyone choosing a set of numbers that random, lol. I'm not judging anyone

How would you feel if this happened to you? Read my story.
And the those self serve machines have buttons to get QPs making using the QP option on a play slip unnecessary.
They do but only if you want a $2 quick pick. I was visiting Ohio on Friday and stopped to pick up an extra ticket for Friday night. I could do a quick pick without the megaplyer on the machine I was using but to add the megaplyer I needed to use a play slip. It makes no sense at all, in my opinion, but the machine was primarily a scratch off vending machine so maybe that is

How would you feel if this happened to you? Read my story.
Two things: One, if you ever end up playing at a Ohio vending machine again think about downloading the Ohio lottery app and use their eplay slip feature. You hold it under the red light, it beeps, you put it under again to confirm (it beeps again) and it prints the tickets. No muss, fuss, no paper eating. I have been where you are at with those machines on the turnpike and the eplay slips have reduced my stress level significantly.
Two, If you legitimately bought the tickets with the s

The man who won the lottery 14 times (part 2)
Just after 11 PM on February 15, 1992, a lottery ball machine at the Virginia State Lottery HQ spit out 6 winning numbers on live television: 8... 11... 13... 15... 19... 20.
In the coming days, officials would find out that one person had secured not only the $27,036,142 jackpot, but 6 second prizes, 132 third prizes, and 135 minor prizes collectively worth another $900k.
What unfolded next was the strangest, most improbable lottery tale in history one involving thousands of internation

Florida Scratch Offs - Post Pictures if posible
In the past 2 months I have played 7 $20 or $30 tickets and they have all been winners . By winner I mean that 6 of the 7 I won the ticket value back and on the 100X I got one win for $40. Everything else was a break even (4 total 100x and 3 $20 Monopolies). Usually I've been only playing the $5 games but out of 10 tickets of Price Is Right, I only won once for $5.
Is $20 Monopoly headed for another jackpot. I played 3 of those this week, all break even winners (1 train with $10, 2 matching n
