PB streak is over!
I know this is off-topic, but one of the winners in the lucky streak, Eric Kyle from Idaho, who won the jackpot on February 23 of this year, had not yet decided whether to take the annuity or cash. It has been over 60 days since he won, so, unfortunately, I believe we have another annuity jackpot value taker.http://www.powerball.com/powerball/pb_stories.asp

mike:Mass NY each have several different annuity-only scratches (and scattered games elsewhere.) Mass Megabucks (6/42) also is annuity-only. And there are the lose for life games.

cash vs. annuity
Beating the incredible, insane odds and actually being in a real-life position to choose between cash and annuity is the main thing. Whether I took the $10 million annuity or the $6 million cash would be incidental - life would be very different with a lot more options afterwards either way. I don't think I would second guess my choice whatever it was as I was vacationing in Hawaii or beginning my non-work day with a walk to the coffee shop.

Fortune cookie fuels record Powerball wins
I believe there is a rule in Powerball that if the cost to purchase an annuity for a jackpot winner is less than $250,000 that the winner automatically gets the one-time lump sum. Therefore if the Powerball picked last Wednesday was 40 instead of 42, all the winners would have received only $125,000 cash, with no annuity option.

cash vs. annuity
i've had several long thoughts on this and i'd choose lump sum and get it over with, annuity is risky because who knows what would happen in the next few years? what if the lottery paying that annuity had problems paying in future years
