Anonymity to avoid lawsuits - frivolous and otherwise
I would wish to remain anonymous for the simple reason, I would not want to be treated differently for before. At every conversation people would say, well, you can afford it . I can imagine that would get very tiring. I don't talk about my income, or ask others about their incomes, so why talk about additional income from a lottery win?

Anonymity to avoid lawsuits - frivolous and otherwise
I'm an introvert and have no desire for fame or attention. I buy my tickets in Delaware so it wouldn't be a problem for me to stay anonymous.

$14M lottery winner promises big tip
I'm happy for him, and I hope he doesn't squander it away. I wonder why he went public, are Canadian lottery winners required to accept publicity? In Australia and the UK, other Commonwealth countries, winners are allowed to remain anonymous and the the vast majority do.

Infamous Alaska lottery winner attacked
This is yet another example of why requiring lottery winners to be publicly identified is crazy. There is no need for winners to be publicly indentify, here in NSW, winners are allowed to remain anonymous and 99% do. Requiring winners to go public, can be disaster for the winners. Friends and family expect help and relationships can breakdown if they don't feel they are getting a fair share .

Claiming Anonymously
To keep it anonymous you must sit up a Trust fund in a name your Lawyer recommends. That way no one will know the real winners.

Conn. man's last lotto ticket wins $10M for widow
Good luck with that anonymity thing. Most states don't allow anonymous jackpot winners. I don't know whether or not this would work, but I've heard that you can circumvent that by becoming incorporated and claiming the winnings on behalf of the corporation. I could be entirely inaccuriate, but I would definitely look into that if I won a big one.

18.4 MILLION Michigan Classic Lotto 47 Jackpot!!
Very true, I hope it keeps rolling, I played only one time last month but if it makes it to 20M I'll play again. Oh and yeah, it is nice that at least with the state lotteries we can remain anonymous.

Piqua lottery winners sued by co-workers
This story illustrates to all lottery winners the importance remaining anonymous. Don't get mixed-up in syndicates, play as an individual or buy a subscription.

Indiana Powerball lottery winners likely to remain anonymous
This is very good on their part. EVERYONE who wins a jp should now know they could get a smart lawyer and remain anonymous. That's the way to go.

Piqua lottery winners sued by co-workers
I always play by myself. I never promise to take care of anyone. That does not mean that I won't help some people in my life. Always be careful what you say to anyone. I do know someone that would probably try to be entitled to my winnings if I were to win Powerball. This is an excellent reason that everyone should have the oppourtunity to be anonymous.
