what state do you see joining the lottery next?
In my opinion, the following states will get a lottery: 1. Arkansas - In 2000, 65% of Arkansas voters declined to establish a state lottery and permit casinos. However, February 2004 a poll indicated that 71% of those polled were opposed to paying more in income taxes to support public school and would rather have a lottery to support public school. November 2004, Question #1, the property tax increase for education, failed in Arkansas. 2. Alaska I would make this state #1, but it is

code breaking and the LOtto...
Spy: I've been thinking about this post of yours for some while, considering the implications. Since you made it on this thread, (which I almost wish you hadn't ---- I think it could have made a good thread standing on its own hind-legs), I think it's probably best to reply again on this thread if I'm going to reply at all. You inspired me to post the thread/poll Lottery Beliefs by LP members, with the post you made above. To some extent, I think the discussions on that thread and the

Does Mathematical Innumeracy foster superstitions and support the belief in them?
What I meant in the second statement was you seem to get off by continuesly insisting that people who play the lottery using some sort of system suffer from a fallacy which is rooted in not having the nessary math skills or understanding. Those who do have the math skills then must suffer some sort of psychological disorder by trying to out perform the odds. If a person does come out ahead then they are fooling themselves thinking that they somehow had a possitive effect when it was a not

Are you playing Mega Millions with the $5.00 per play?
With our poll on this thread, there most likely will be a few more headed down that road of waking up and smelling the coffee. After all, When you take a game that was enjoyed/played by millions, add bells and whistles, adjust other aspects, increase the price 150%, eliminate over half of your playing pool......well......you get what you pay for. .....Lipstick on a pig...... I personally can't wait for them to add another 150% increase, can you ?? Just curious.....Haven't seen on any of the
