RL-RANDOMLOGIC,
We can see by the above calculator that digit 3 is best played as either the right-hand digit in position 1 or as the decade digit in the fifth position. I am not talking rocket science here but it's good to know where to place digits and how often they are likely to show
Uh-Huh...
In one of my very first posts here I said that you can control the distribution of your winnings by choosing certain betting patterns. You always conveniently forget that post, probably beca

Lotto Fallacies
Do you believe everything you read on the internet?
No offense, but if they dont have QP sales by state, by draw, by jackpot amount, with totals, and percentages etc, etc, then MUSL is just pulling stats out of a hat.
Its called psuedo-accounting.
If 1 billion QP lottery tickets are sold and one wins, do your odds of winning increase so much because you happened to buy a QP ticket? Thats what I call a one in a billion chance. Thats worse then the odds stated on the playcard!!!!

Lotto Fallacies
That is true, but I think it's because most people play quick picks, not necessarily because they are better or worse.
I've been curious about own numbers vs quick picks and decided to do a little study on it. What I've been doing is tracking how many numbers I match on Louisiana Lotto(pick 6/40, minimum 3 to win) and have found something interesting.
For the last 52 drawings, I've played both a set of numbers my wife and I picked and a quick pick and here are the results.

Rigged Lottery: the basic questions
TV drawings :
- Why is the number of lottery jackpot winners NOT announced immediately after?
- why isn't the public allowed to watch?
- why do the odds for each drawn combination decrease with the increase of the jackpot sum, or in other words with the number of bets?
Jackpot Winners :
- why only exceptionally do they get a public face? Reminder: almost all winners of Spain's El Gordo, world's largest lottery drawn in public, don't remain anonymous.
- why do almost all winners

How Much Money Do You Spend Playing the Lottery in a Week?
You're absolutely right Jimmy. I was just using a simple example.
The true expected value of any given pari-mutuel jackpot depends on the number of tickets sold. You can use either the Poisson or Binomial formula and basically just multiply the prize by the probability of only 1 winner. For example, with odds of 1 in 25,000,000 and jackpot of $25,000,000 and sales of 5,000,000 tickets, the expected value is $22,658,656 which comes out to about 91 cents (again, taxes not figured).
It is imp

@Oh438
- the thing is ... if variance is the difference between what is to be expected and what actually occurs ... then with variance in mind , every number is to be expected which means we would be playing numbers based on a wish and a prayer... but the more testing, practice, and tracking pair, digits, patterns , etc .... one is able to predict certain events, whether its pairs, sums, digits, etc ... so what most of us do on a daily basis is use that knowledge and understanding of the game

Mathematics and the Lottery
IMHO
1. Cheaper than ball machines which have a high maintenance cost.
2. Drawings are quicker, and cheaper. Fewer employees required. Not a lot of extra paperwork.
3. Allow drawings to be held behind closed doors.
4. Give lottery ability to cheat. There have been instances where code was changed to give the lottery
an advantage. However, attentive players discovered and exposed the cheating.
5. Although many players have demanded computers be scrapped, lottery officials ignore

How do you determine if a system is worth buying?
Unfortunately, lottery software sellers do not reveal their system's real life simulations or evaluations to demonstrate what the software is capable of doing and how good it is (or can be) in predicting winners. Without this, no matter how appealing the system appears you always buy a cat in a bag. For me a decent Pick 3 prediction system should have the following features:
1. Be based on actually drawn numbers.
2. Provide at least several statistical methods for predicting future numbers

Texas Cash 5
I agree!
If you recall, this game was originally 5/39, 2 draws per week. Jackpots rolled.
They went to 4 draws and the game went to he...
To save face, they went to 5/37 with $2 2/5 rather than a free ticket to increase number of winners, and save face.
They later made it a daily game, to save face and ass.
But, it's another loser - just like all the other games those idiots have started.
The fact that they took credit for developing the All or Nothing game is good example of h
