@EMTAdam - I have a huge problem with her statement. If jackpots are still showing on the website as remaining prizes and they are still selling the tickets till the end date, then my opinion is that the game should still actually have those jackpots and if they already scanned the returned books and the system tells them a jackpot ticket was destroyed the lottery should have a legal and moral obligation to update the website accordingly and not mislead the public. This is so wrong on so many le

Machine Down!
Grrr. Did my daily coffee/lotto run and the guy filling in did not know how to turn on the machine. I could be hit by a car and never get to buy the winning ticket(s) before the next drawings. I also had 1 + PB for a grand total of $5 bucks that I could not cash in.
Contrary to the advertisement, the Sacramento Lottery gods, fire up the computers around 5:30 am and not 6 am. At the donut shop, now defunct, they would start selling tickets at 5:30 am which I prefer. I tried to get my other st

@Fla331boyz, no it was just a regular mom and pop type gas station, they just remodeled so all the games were on the first on the roll with low numbers and all. SO, I went back this morning intending on finishing the roll off and someone had beat me to finishing off BOTH rolls! Luckily for me the cashier told me they were losers (I personally don't think they ALL were losers) but saved me a ton of money. I can only afford that game a few times a month--blew a lot of cash on that one.
Here's t

I remember very well one day a few years ago. I was at my fav Publix near where I live buying tickets from the machine ..... don't remember what $20 game it was .... went something like this - was buying 5 at a time $100 of the same game ......was going to buy 15 ........ tickets were coming out in correct numbers .... all of a sudden the ticket number jumped from say #20 to #14 (Publix starts hi to low)...... SIX tickets were missing ... where did they go ? Mgr opened the machine to see they fe

I think you make a great point. They can't be tampered with at the machine (easily at least) since it requires manager approval usually to load it. Pulling that off would be alot more suspicious and risky.
I bought 3 $1 Loose Change tickets from a Kangaroo gas stations. The last 3 tickets. Ticket number 201-203. Anyone see a problem here? Lmao. I'm sure this goes down in other parts of the state, not just Gainesville.

Wow, books at 100k on release? I've seen Holiday Millions in the 9k book range, and 90k book range a couple stores apart. With the estimated game odds, the top prize should be found in every 54,106 books. With numbers being skipped, perhaps the end range might be closer to 115k or 120k on this game.
There's alot of slow traffic retailers with books in the 30k, 60k range, etc. Publix, and high traffic stores seem to be selling books primarily in the higher end now 80k-100k+ range. With it bein

Stores that sell lottery tickets but will not pay out winnings
Apparently 7-11 allows players to play the lottery in their stores but if you win you cannot cash in the winning ticket. You would have to go somewhere else to claim your winnings, even if they are nominal.
Anyone ever heard of this and does it make sense to have a lottery machine in a location that cannot pay its winners?
Are there other stores/locations that allow this?

Scratcher stories
I would like anyone with an amusing or humorous lotto experience to post it here.
One of mine:
I was purchasing some scratchers from a machine at the 24-hour Safeway in Albany, CA in the evening and they had inconsiderately placed a stack of shopping baskets next to the terminal. I wedged myself in to insert my bill and as I shuffled around to read the dispenser my leg pressed one of the buttons. It was a 100,000 Taxes Paid $5 ticket. I swiped off the coating on the card to

Stopped by AK Kwik today. Apparently their biggest winners recently were $10k on Gold Rush, and a $2,500 winner on the Platinum 7s.
Bought $300 in scratchoffs, got $294 back. A couple $25 Florida Cash, random $5 tickets, random $2 tickets (Electric 8s, Gridiron, Ruby Riches), etc. This was a nice break even session.
On the way back home, I cashed in the winners and reinvested them in more tickets. Most of those tickets were losers with a return rate of about 30%, but I found one gem

Some NC lottery players win so often, their good fortune defies logic
Yes, I agree, NCEL needs to be investigated more. Especially the practice of ending scratch off games that still have 2nd and 3rd top prizes. If an outsider would do an audit on just the past 3-4 years for example, it might be eye opening to see how many games that were still popular, and good seller's that were pulled. Their standard answer is that they pull games to make way for the new ones, which come out every month. Just last year, they pulled a game that still had at least 3 top prizes. T
