With a jackpot of $36.5M, Ohio's Classic Lotto is looking good again
Now that PB and MM jackpots are reset to $20.0M and $12.0M, Ohio's Classic Lotto is looking good again. With odds of 1:14M of winning the jackpot to boot, it should attract a lot of players while MM and PB are building up their jackpots again. A couple of weeks ago when this same situation existed it was only at $33.5M but it only rolls $200K-$300K after each drawings so I don't expect it will grow much more before some one wins it.

I am one of these guys that aims specifically at the second-tier prize Second-tier prizes range from $200K to $1M and there are plenty of other games offering those size prizes with better odds. Many pick5 games have odds of 1/600K with jackpots of $200K+ and most state lotteries have jackpots of $1M-$10M+ with odds of 1/14M. If you're still playing PB then you have hope of winning the jackpot.

These are some of the same changes that happened to the Canadian lotteries a couple of years ago. First their main game (Lotto 649) went from $1 a ticket to $2 a ticket. Then Super 7 which already had $2 tickets, was replaced with Lotto Max with $5 tickets. These changes are not good for individual players. Players have to pay more. What they get in return, larger jackpots, is not of greater value. For an individual, a $100 million jackpot is not twice as valuable as a $50 million jackpot. Th

I just took another look at the output from a computer simulation above of (5,39) Lotto. In 25 runs of 5,000,000 draws each, I see NO Jackpots (5/5). The distribution of (4/5) hits average close to expected but with some choppiness at the low end. ANYTHING is possible, but since chance would cause me to expect to see around 8 or 9 Jackpots on average in 5,000,000 draws, if this were my program, I would turn on the DEBUGGER, disable all the timer stuff, and take a serious look at my algorithms! J

Estimated jackpots are based on interest they can expect an annuity to pay, maybe the lower estimates are based on lower interest annuities are paying now.
