Is it worth buying a large number of tickets once a year?
It depends on whether or not you play for the fun, the challenge and if you have a system. If you buy numbers well in advance of the drawing that would mean you aren't choosing numbers based on recent information, such as previous draws. I play several combinations, so I would never want to invest that much money all at once. I would only buy advanced plays if I plan to be away or very busy for a long time and might miss a drawing. There is a small disadvantage to getting advance plays,

Stupid Question-Quick picks VS Your Own #'s
Over the years the various lotteries have at times said the ratio of quick pick winners to those winners who select their own numbers is the same. They have no way to break out those who play birthday numbers from those using a system. Your best bet is to eliminate about a dozen numbers and put all the rest into play even if that means a 2if6 wheel or a 3if6 wheel taken to 90% coverage as closing that last 10% can take more combinations then the 90%. If using a commercial wheel look t

All new lottery shows on TLC
There were three separate one-hour reports, our cable guide said New, 2006, so I think they were filmed in 2006 but just now aired for the first time. (Some were obviously file films from pre- 2006, one was about a Big Game winner, which is what Mega Millions used to be known as). If I was tracking them right, every winner interviewed won on a quick pick. One woman talked about playing her numbers and having an extra dollar and asked for another ticket and that's the one that won it for

Why choose your numbers?
I picked my own numbers about 12 years ago using the birthdays in my family. There are 5 people in my immediate family (Mom, Dad, 2 sisters and I) and I used the day for each of us. I needed a 6th number. My Dad's birth certificate says he was born on Aug 7, but my Grandmother always said that the hospital made a mistake and it was the 4th. So, since he always acted like a big baby, we celebrated his birthday on Aug 4 and Aug 7. That's where I got the extra number. Then I changed it a li

Experiment #29 (5/39 – NY – 9/5/2007) POWER NUMBER!
Wow,that's great! Congrats on your winnings. I so totally agree with you that a dollar and a dream is a joke except for those VERY RARE occasions when someone will hit on a quick pick or two. Good answer here, if you are planning on winning any kind of jackpot you do have to step it up and be willing to invest some dough, that's all there is to it. And it can't be scared money, I think that's what they call it in the gambling world, money that you aren't afraid to lose. It has to be money that

Maddogs powerball Challenge 9/5
Wisconsin Man Claims $29.1 Million Powerball Jackpot! As an over-the-road truck driver for almost 25 years Steve Peot of Green Bay never imagined he would amass more money than miles. So count him as one very surprised Powerball jackpot winner. This really is unbelievable , Peot said. Peot, 45, presented the Wisconsin Lottery with the only winning ticket from the September 5th $29.1 million Powerball drawing. He purchased his winner at the Superstore in De Pere. I don't play that often

A dollar and a dream true for PB and MM?
I didn't read every one of the last 7 post all the way through ( hurt my head to much) but i did read something that caught my eye. something about selling all the combinations. If i go and buy 100 mega million or power ball tickets. There is nothing written anywhere that those combinations won't be sold to someone else. While it is possible that one day they might sell nearly all the combinations for a mega or power ball game. If they do they will also sell multiple quick pick tickets w

New to Lotto - Spending Birthday Money $100
First of all, great site. Some very interesting ideas, posts, systems... For the past 20 years, my grandmother sends me $100 for my birthday. When I was younger, I would just spend it on junk. But for the past 5 years, I've purchased scratch offs. At first it was 100 $1 tickets. Then it turned to 50 $2 tickets. As of now, I'm about $60 up. Which isn't too bad. My birthday was yesterday and this will be the first time I actually buy Texas Lotto tickets. But before I do, I wanted to know wh

North Carolina 8/13 thru 8/31
A double it was...as tonight's winning numbers: 8-22-07 ~ 733 I got a piece of the pie on this one by getting a quick pick yesterday and played it for 2 draws. My 3 day rule paid off in spades this time because the number was straight and that's how I played it. Congrats to all the winners !!
