mega millions info?
While each state might not have and equal population of players. The chance of winning might favor the states where the most people play. However the winning number doesn't care which state it hits. It's all about the odds of the game and the selection of numbers drawn.Yesterday I saw a news broadcast and they were showing some peoples ticket purchases and the play slips they were filling out. The first three tickets people had all the numbers filled out from 1 to 26 and no numbers above 27. An

Two men from Jamaica, New York who moved to the United States in search of the American dream have found both success and luck, after winning a combined $19 million in lottery prizes this month.Yesterday, they gleefully recounted their experiences when they were announced as the winners at a news conference in White Plains at Martine Fruit Farm, the store where one of the tickets was sold. I threw my hands in the air and said, 'Thank you, Jehovah,' said Radcliffe Rocky Drummond of Yonkers, th

Buying unique combinations
A good strategy when buying lottery tickets is to buy combinations that no one else has picked. This way, if you win the jackpot, you win the entire prize and not have to share it. This is especially important in the following 3 cases:1) lotteries with relatively small jackpots2) buying tickets for a pool (money is already being split)3) simply wanting all the money no matter how much it is. How do you do this? Well for one, do not buy any duplicates yourself. People have been known to buy dupli

Employees hope to get a share of Texas Lotto win
El Paso store gets $1.45 million cutEmployees at the downtown El Paso gas station that sold Saturday's winning Texas Lottery ticket are anxiously awaiting to hear if they will get a cut from the share of the winnings given to the vendor. I think the morale would be very high if we did get some, said Sandra Lane, the gas station's assistant manager. I'm not greedy. I was thinking maybe $1,000, you know, or maybe $2,000. The bearer of the winning ticket with the numbers 9, 26, 28, 29, 40 and a b

Number Systems and statistics.
Quote: Originally posted by wiseone2 on April 28, 2004I don't believe it's the individual member states that control the number of winners in their state. All member states are part of a single lottery network. The central computer makes all of the decisions regarding winners and where they are sold. The software is programmed to make the necessary calculations, etc., and then sends out the quick picks accordingly. I believe the system can be programmed to send out a specified number of wi

Probability of a rollover in PB and MM
Quote: Originally posted by 6of6 on February 02, 2004 Thanks for the stats prob, never looked at the odds for the jackpot before, very interesting, But I had my tickets when mm got to that 350 mil mark, that was when it was split 3 or 4 ways , the only thing I remember about that jackpot was ( besides that I didn't win of course) was that one winner was a 18 or 19 year old girl who bought like 5 quick pics at a gas station, never played before and won. Well, as I see it, there are circumstances

Which System do you use??
WOW, Some very interesting post and points have been expressed on this thread.Guess I will share my additional 2 cents worth.First, let me say I am 100% a systems player. Always have been and always will be. In my own personal opinion, I feel that it gives me a slight advantage to wheel or play via a system. Some will agree and others will disagree. That is fine. I am also open minded enough to realize that quick picks and other methods win as well. Obviously no one has yet invented a magic
