You have been in this Pool " forever" & decide you done- you walk away..

Saw this picture and thought...
It would be funny if we all played those numbers and it hit. We'd have formed an LP lottery pool accidentally.

16 N.Y. biotech workers claim $58M Mega Millions jackpot
Each week, the pool members would chip in $4 and take turns purchasing a set of multistate lottery tickets, using a different store each week
32 tickets per draw. Nice! I wonder if there were some coworkers who dropped out of the pool after months of nothing but losers. *shudders*

In Group Winners: can the payout other than split evenly ?
Even in the state lotteries that divide the prize equally for a pool, they won't subdivide shares. The taxes on any other money distribution is determined by the IRS rules. The amount paid in and the prize distributions was equal; everybody contributed the same.
From what I read so far, if this pool wins a jackpot, we'll be reading about the lawsuit on LP news.

If you not in a lottery Pool at present. .
Have some kind of strategy if you are going to start a pool. Even if it's buying your QPs from several different locations.

3 Years Later and over $60 Thousand Down...
i use covermaster to generate a 2/6 or 2/7 wheel with all numbers from 45 or 40 . to get my all numbers in 8 tickets. ea pool has 4 tickets, but after a 30M jackpot is reached they play the other 4. and ea pool then gets 8 tickets. making the total 24 tickets for all pools on ozlotto and power ball , here in aust.
Im happy for the discount while casing a big win.

You don't have to pool your money with friends or anyone else to invest in those companies, you can buy their stock any time on your own.
