Lottery winner gets help on plan to turn good fortune into lifelong prosperity
Double sigh. Seems like the old adage applies: more money, more problems. Must have been lots of smart lottery winning investorsj that lost a ton of money, especially those who took that lump sum payment. Between the federal, state (if you are so blessed to live in a taxing state) and the taxes you spend on the mansion and fleet of new cars, you can be down to relative peanuts in no time. Add in the global recession/depression on all investments that even Warren Buffett took a buffeting , and yo

Schedule for "Lottery Changed My Life"
I think I know what story you're talking about, I wrote a post several months ago that was basically referring to it in the story about Alex Toth, it's the story of Andrew Cicero. There's a bit more to it to than that, I couldn't find the story on LP so here's a link to the story. http://www.jsonline.com/news/waukesha/29420174.html
Of course you can't completely trust your advisers either, I mean you can't just let them have free reign over your assets while you retire and don't have a han

When to retire numbers?
Hey thanks for the reply diamond/jap69, I should have probably noted that I was leaning towards the larger pool of numbers with 53+ no powerball ranges.
I've been keeping a spreadsheet with the last 3 months drawings and while a 2 number sequence happens often i.e. 1/10 and 1/14 drawings the
no5 and no6 positions were 40 41 consecutive it doesn't really happen too often. When I won 4/6 I kinda thought to myself what are the odds for 4 of these numbers turning up again but
then again it

Good habit or Bad habit?
my bad, i'll make this one my last post on this thread..
There might be a way that taoism/Buddhism could be superior to Christianity and that's by having a Bible but of sayings, wisdom sayings that teaches people good conduct and other stuff important in life, plus they borrow the best things from the Christian Bible and they give it a touch of cosmology about the cosmos and how how fragile we are in this universe and unique as humans and how we must prepare to cross the cosmos, plus everythi

24 year-old Calif. man claims lottery riches
In my opinion, I don't think its the age at all that deserves to win. Its a good person who deserves to win. Everyone has a story to tell at any age. The 20 year old who wants to pay for college and help out his parents who may be sturggling...the 40 year old who has worked hard at his job for 20+years to support the family..the 60 year old who wants to retire in style cuz dang it he/she deserves it...and the 80 year old who dreams of leaving some money to the kids...the grandkids....and event t

Cool $207 million up for grabs in lottery
Need some extra spending money this holiday season? Would $207 million be enough?
That's the jackpot for Friday night's Mega Millions drawing, if a single ticket matches all six numbers in the multi-state lottery.
The Mega Millions jackpot has been climbing steadily without a big winner since Oct. 21, when Mark Staffa of Rockmart won $42 million.
Staffa, a software engineer, said he planned to use the windfall to help his parents retire and to travel the world.
If this turns out to b

$180 Million Lottery Winners: 'We Want A Regular Life'
If you can't win it big in the lottery, you hope the ones who do seem worthy of the prize. Which is why few can be disappointed that a Minnesota couple has come forward to claim one of the biggest jackpots in North American history a whopping $180 million.
Paul and Sue Rosenau were the sole winners of the Powerball lottery in last Saturday's big draw. The couple, from the small town of Waseca, will take a one time lump sum payment worth $59.6 million after taxes.
Both are 54 and both sti

Im desperate
Okay - I was going to stop this silly discussion, but these are your exact words, not mine.
From your blog:
I need a winning lottery number straight or boxed for Michigan .Im overdue on all my bills, Im about to lose my home.Im really searching for the right number
Now you are saying I never said I was broke. I guess you are right and I'm really stupid and uneducated, because when someone writes that all of her bills are overdue and she is losing her home, meaning she will be homeles

Lottery winner goes from rags to riches to rags
I'm still thinking about the $200,000 and the trip to Vegas.
OK, he wins the Powerball, the OP said his share was $27,000,000. So in that respect at the time the $200,000 loan is chump change. He's going to retire the loan as soon as he gets his lottery check and not keep paying interest.
But as the story goes on he gets sued by the homeowners association for several thousand.
So at first that $200,000 was peanuts but how bad do you think he's like to have that $200,000 now?
