Ohio considering Match 6 clone
you state a good point. the players should be able to make their choice, but in ohio, if you win the super lotto plus, and take annuity, you have 60 days to change your mind. if you choose cash, you're stuck with it. that's why i always choose annuity when i play it. it gives me time to get advice.

Mega Millions lottery jackpot increases to $53 million
Hello everyone. I am new to the forum. I have a question regarding Megamillions v Powerball. I noticed the Powerball website lists both the Annuity and Cash values but Megamillions does not. Is the cash value of a Megamillions jackpot win roughly half the annuity amount? Thanks for any replies.

Probability of a rollover in PB and MM
The Powerball has, of course, been won and the jackpot is once again $10,000,000 annuity dollars. I assume, consistent with the information on Lottobuddy's site, that a $10,000,000 minimum annuity jackpot will represent roughly $12.5 million in sales. On this basis the probability that the next jackpot will rollover again is 90%. The probability of there being one winner is 9%, two winners, 0.5% and three winners, 0.02%.Good luck.

Tonight’s PB, fun facts...
A guaranteed rate of return of 9% for 29 years? Now where are you going to get that? Average is about 4% to 5%. Everyone thinks they could do better investing than what the lottery annuity pays, but that's usually not the case. The lottery annuity is pre-tax investment, it's hard to beat that.
