More Texas Lottery trouble:" Auditor's warning erased from report
If they had a Security Division it might be worthwhile to investigate whether anyone in that outside auditing firm had any jackpot wins sometime after the final audit report came out.Might be the head man over there used to keep a high-dollar scratcher in his desk drawer as sort of a good luck charm.Jack

Lottery Audits
Is there in any checks and balances in the the firms that do lottery audits? Or is it set up so somebody's cousin can do the auditing? Maybe, audit contracts are based on kickbacks. How do we know that the audits are really valid and unbiased? Is this something the Fed should be doing?

Non-broadcast balls vs. computers
Lottery personnel can monitor a lottery machine while it is selecting the numbered balls, but the lottery personnel asking the computer to select the numbers have no earthly idea what the computer is doing to select the numbers. NO WAY TO AUDIT IT. So, whether or not it's on TV, lottery ball machines are far better.

Computer or Natural(Ball based machines)?
Another thing comes to mind. How do you audit a virtual dvent. With ball based machine, at least you could see what is going on... now, 'out of sight, out of mind' is the goal.

Missouri Lottery Ignites Controversy with Computerized Drawings
I have personally hacked into computers that are not connected to anything. Once you gain physical access to a computer it's easy. And I'm sure you don't think that the Missouri Lottery has security as good as Fort Knox.At least with ballsets, you can physically audit the balls and machines without being a rocket scientist. However, if someone were to alter the computer code, it could stay hidden for months or years.

Are Lotteries Rigged
Wow. It's hard to believe this topic is still open. It's even more difficult to believe that there are die-hard players out there who refuse to accept the obvious: Corruption and fraud are on the rise in state lotteries. In just the past ninety days, the Colorado Lottery was shut down due to accounting irregularities. Coincidently, their lottery commissioner resigned, and a new one was installed before operations began again. Then, only yesterday, I read that the Minnesota Lottery commissioner

George Andersen, Former Minnesota Lottery Director
Considering the circumstances, the lottery should not have been emphasized in his obituary at all. How embarassing it will be if the pending audit reveals corruption! I would have shied away from mentioning it in the obituary.
