DC lottery contract is the subject of a federal probe with numerous officials under scrutiny
DC is one of the states I adore so much...a model state for me...if corruption is the topic, DC is exempted from it. So, how could this thing happen? There must be some mistake...should have a deeper investigation on this matter.

$32 million Mega Millions ticket claimed in LA area
I agree with the tax amount, but I think all states that have state income taxes should follow California's example and NOT tax lottery winnings. If I were elected to Congress or the Presidency, I would introduce legislation or push Congress to exempt lottery winnings from federal taxes. I would more than offset that loss of revenue by legalizing and taxing MJ and other illicit drugs as well as prostitution of all types except underage, of course (minimum age will be same as legal age of consent

Do they know what numbers to avoid picking or what?
I'm waiting for a new season of that to come on. I'd rather have corruption in gub' ment exposed. But I guess lotteries could fall into the category some where.

Britain's record lottery winners go public
replublican/democrat--liberal/conservative. Most are crooks, lining their pockets, working for special interest to get re-elected. Understand that we have to pay for our freedom through high taxes, oil and unlimited corruption by both parties. America is still the greatest country in the world and I would rather be no where else. Sorry Canada...(although I would like to be in canada 2day b/c it is hot)

Damaging evidence against former Mass Lottery overseer
every single politician is crooked or they wouldn't have made it to that level of running for or getting elected into office...there are no exceptions. you can find something in every politicians background that would indicate some form of corruption. yet, people are sheep and will do whatever they are told to do and whatever laws they pass they abide by them...time to reduce their salarys and pensions to minimum wage....then we'll get some honest people to pretend to represent their constituent

$2M Michigan lottery winner defends use of food stamps
Well put Sully!! RR, you have the right idea, no corruption period, from no one!! When I was around 10 years old, my mom had a big fight with her only sister, because her sister was on welfare. She and her husband had 6 kids and her husband was a drunk and couldn't keep a job. My father was a farmer, my mom worked in the textile plant from 11pm to 8am, 5 days a week. She figured if she could work , her sister should work.

$2M Michigan lottery winner defends use of food stamps
Sully, you are magnificent!
We cannot proceed on the basis of Well, the government steals and the rich steal so it's ok for us to steal too.
No, we have to stand against corruption from all quarters until we eliminate it.
We have to stop eating the crumbs from the table of corruption thrown our way to shut us up and divert our gaze from the big picture.
It's impossible to complain about foxes in the hen house when we have a mouth full of feathers.

Nevada lawmakers discuss lottery
I agree but it's hard to counter deeply inbedded and well funded corruption like they have there.
Money talks and it talks very loudly and convincingly to state and local politicians and mind-numbed union robots whose only concern is their bottom line.
Slippery Harry is a major league crook but still just a spoke in the wheel of corruption inherent in that state.
If Big Money doesn't want petitions to change things, they won't.
Stumbling blocks will appear or the numbskulls who re-e

Missouri Senate to discuss privatizing state lottery
Well you are contradicting your own argument in your first post. Your argument was that the government was turning a profit, and a private company would screw that up.
I hate to say it, but it sounds like you just plain like government and dislike business. Because you are unwilling to provide a shred of evidence for your initial complaints, and you contradicted yourself in an attempt to evade my pointed questions.
Unless you can provide something concrete I would have to conclude that it
