How is this not a massive fraud by the Florida Lottery?
Flalotteryscam, A couple of slow re-reads of your post highlighted your concern about that particular scratch game in your state. My favorite guru here, The Most Honorable RJoh, has a point also. Investigations cost money, unless of course, a newspaper has a vested interest in scooping this story. Your observations and concerns might be better directed to your State Attorney General, just saying! We play hard earn money in these games, with a hope of a return on our financial outp

what kind of small business would be good to invest in if you won a jackpot (IYO)
I would love to have some kind of business if I won the lottery, mainly to keep me busy working and not busy spending up all my money, but I don't know what kind I'd like to invest in...I have a couple in mind but I don't have any experience in the area and I wonder if if would be a good thin to invest in....Anyways these are a couple I was thinking of 1. Chik'fil'A I like their business model and their ethics, well other than the homo thing Im more of an equal rights person what you do and w

Can MM & PB Start Being Honest? Must this farce continue?
It was clearly a personal attack. Only if you believe breaking the law by leaving the scene of an horrible accident makes sense. But people who don't like seeing an inflated annuitized amount is arguing from an ethical perspective. Nobody cares if you disagree with MUSL's ethics in advertising the jackpot amount. Neither PB or MM tickets are sold in Toronto so you probably don't know state lotteries all across the U.S. advertise the huge jackpots in the form of highest possible win.

Mega Millions winner forced to split jackpot with co-workers
So lottery-pool man wins, regrets playing (only since he won as he most assuridly would have loved being in a pool had one of his other co-'s won), hides win, scams job with false declaration of needed and upcoming surgery, disappears for a semi-short period of time, returns claiming lottery win and IS SURPRISED that one of his co's would have checked dates to see when his win was. So... he either figures that his co's are as stupid as he would have been, or that they are as stupid as he WISH

Illinois Lottery hopes to sell tickets online in '3 to 4 months'
Trust me, I know a lot about welfarism, at least in my little corner of Central NJ. Always present - and always making people dependent. The progressives will always snark at that idea - but that's because they don't care enough to spend some time working with the poor they want to help with a free check every week. On the other hand, I work directly with the poor - and I feel as if the welfarism we provide keeps them dependent, and the only thing that's sadder is when they teach their children

What is a lottery system? What distinguishes a lottery system from guesses, dreams and quick picks?
the fact about you is that your tainted by agenda, and anyone that is tainted by agenda couldn't possibly be trusted for an unbiased opinion on whatever they are pontificating about at the moment. count yourself with the ain'ts , and continue to lie to yourself that their tactics are above board when debating with me. interesting that you failed to mention the nasty remarks these guys throw onto the board, and i alone am the bad guy . you only mentioned jimmy and i, and yet your giving

N.J. Lottery to end live broadcast of midday drawing
I look at it with a few more shades of gray than this. As the old adage goes, you can tell that a politician is lying by the fact that their lips are moving, but there is lying and then there is lying, corruption, and a complete lack of ethics or guiding principles. (A certain Speaker of the House comes to mind as I type this.) In some areas of the country things are done with a little more civility, and there is a bit more respect paid to a common set of morals. Everyone expects that poli

Why you should try to remain anonymous if you ever win a jackpot!
Nice. Yeah, becoming a CFP myself would certainly be one of the things on my to do list after winning. If just not only for a good cover but so as to at least help develop a firmer grasp on things. There's no way I'd let someone else take control my finances and make decisions on my behalf without my actual involvement. I think that's another problem a lot of winners who end up broke have. They don't want the responsibility and take a mostly hands off approach to it and just spend spend s

do you think florida will go computerized?
There can be no question that, if this trend is allowed to continue (in other words, if WE allow it to continue), Florida and other states will embrace electronic drawing methods. Once officials in other states begin to see how much money can simply vanish before the public's eyes, with no consequences or investigations, of course they'll make the switch. Not to do so would make them the laughingstock of their peers. Ethics violations, questionable spending and outright fraud or other c

Moral Question: Doctor or Lottery Winner?
Aston lol I have no morals. I believe morals are constructs that harm the universe and bind people up in all the false illusions that bind us from achiving perfection as a species and creating a beautiful Earth and universe. I don't believe in ethics either. Everything I do is for myself and that of those I love including my work on environmental issues. The Earth is my home and animals on the Earth are a part of ecosystems that help my home the Earth run properly...... M
